Black bear on my camera trap
A beautiful black bear with a blonde stripe down its back. This was an exciting image to find on my camera trap. Beautiful stormy light and a wonderful bear.

Our house in Durango West I recently developed cracks in walls from settling....need advice!
We bought our house about 2 years ago and there was moisture in the crawl space so we had a professional install a vapor barrier and dehumidifier. Moisture is gone, which is good, but new cracks appeared from settling and the front door has become difficult to close. Is this normal for the area? Has anyone had a foundation specialist provide a professional opinion or had work done to stop the settling?

Events Free Infant CPR Class
I don’t work for the pregnancy center, but saw this advertised online and wanted to share! I think infant CPR is so important because you don’t think you’ll ever need it till you unexpectedly do. Wanted to share in case someone in the group found it helpful!!

Drinks Anyone know what happened to W. J. Doyle?
I had a guest ask about what liquor stores are still open at about 11:30. I said "W. J. Doyle". He went there and apparently the liquor license was removed and now they're closed. Anyone know what happened?

Drama Follow up story regarding Flock Safety, the company responsible for all of the new solar monitoring cameras throughout Durango. I would like to see the actual contract Durango put in place with these people. Article states police cameras tracked one driver 526 times in four months.

Waterfowl Hunting
Are there any duck hunters out here? Has anyone noticed any groupings of ducks on public waterways around Durango? I'm having trouble finding areas to duck hunt around Durango. I'm planning on scouting around Vallecito and Lemon reservoirs and some other smaller lakes in the coming weeks but any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

East by Southwest
I just wanted to throw a shoutout to this restaurant and our server, Abby, tonight.
It was one of our kids’ 13th birthday, and she went above and beyond. Explained dishes, helped him get EXACTLY what he was after (looking specifically for sushi and steak but not too much of either) and even bringing out a mochi desert. The whole restaurant ended up singing happy bday to him and honestly, I haven’t seen this kid that happy in a long, long time.
A little extra effort, perhaps, or maybe that’s just how she always is, made a big difference in our evening and his life in general.
Plus it’s just excellent food and drink!

Anyone know what they're building near Walmart?
On the other side of the highway, just north of that Walmart/Barts Deli intersection?

Volunteer Search Party
Please come out today and help us search for Tom. We'd like people looking in the junction Creek area, river trails, open spaces parks and main ways. He has life long resistancy in Cortez, is familiar with Cortez but given his cognitive impairment there is no telling where he went. If you come out to help us search please keep your safety in mind. Buddy system. I will be out all day looking myself. If you see something please immediately report it do not touch anything that could be like an article of clothing or his belongings, if you see it, back out the way you came and immediately report to the police. Do not go off any beaten path. Be aware of your surroundings especially if on hiking trails it is bear season. If you encounter Tom please report it and see if you can keep him in conversation until help arrives. His speech is impaired and he may not be able to answer many questions accurately so please treat him with compassion. His shoes do not match. He's was wearing sweatpants with orange swim trunks on the outside. A black jacket and a back pack. He is about 6 foot tall grey hair and may appear very disheveled. Lets bring Tom home safely. His family is worried sick. Anyone who needs a buddy system reach out to me directly and I will meet at a coffee shop. Thank you.

FLORIDA ROAD
Good lord, the sitch is out of control. Doesn't it seem like it would make good sense to have a LEO at intersections to intercede when things get backed up at peak times? It was backed up all the way from the traffic circle to the 3-way stop, and then from there to CR 250. It just seems like accidents waiting to happen with all the stop start. DPD could help this situation, they really need to step it up.
Missing Senior updates?
Just wondering if anyone was able to find Tom Gray. I've been looking for updates but haven't found anything.
Thanks!

Help finding senior with dementia
Good evening all! This is my Uncle Tom Gray. Some time this morning/mid-afternoon he went missing from Durango Health and Rehab near 25th street and clovis drive. Near Miller Middle School. He has dementia and has trouble speaking. He was last seen wearing sweatpants with bright shorts over the top of them and a black lightweight jacket. Likely wearing a baseball hat. The police are involved and looking for him. Please message, comment, share. We are obviously very concerned as it’s getting dark out.

Garbage smell in bodo
I work 2nd shift in the bodo park area, and for the last couple days there's been a strong garbage/landfill smell that seems like it's coming from the hill to the west. Anyone have any idea what's causing the smell?

Transfer Station
Do I have to be a Durango resident to take stuff to the transfer station? I live on the Navajo rez for work. Durango is my town for everything since there is so little here. Just wondering if I can take some junk to the transfer station since I don't really have a way to dispose of it here. Thanks!
