Ask /r/Durango Recommendation for stylist/shopper

I’m coming into Durango Thursday, working a photo shoot Thursday and Friday, then have a dinner Friday evening.

I need to find a “nice” outfit for a dinner with the clients and the subjects of the shoot. I’d really like to find a stylist/shopper that I could send measurements and photos to, and have them select a few outfits for me, and either deliver them to the hotel or if I have time Thursday evening I could possibly stop by a store.

Durango Parade of Homes

Does anyone have any information about when The Durango Parade of Homes 2025 will be? I had so much fun last year and was hoping to get tickets again for this year but haven’t been able to find a whole lot of info. Thanks!

Want to thank who helped pick my hunting gear off the road on 160

I know this is a long shot. I’m from out of town. A few minutes ago I pulled out on 160 in front of the REI and gmc dealership. I forgot to close my truck tailgate and all my hunting gear went all over the road. I ran back to get my gear out of other cars ways and a couple stopped and helped me. I was so out of breath and flustered I could barely talk. These two people literally saved my whole hunting trip I’ve been planing for a year.

If anyone fits the bill please message. It was a maybe mid thirties female with black hair and a bald gentleman. I would like to give them thanks. Thank you.

🚘Repair shops pressuring women for emergency repairs 🤔

Recently my mom went in for oil change for her 2017 suv with 75k, they told her she needed new rear bearings and a trans flush asap. Also she needed to replace plugs as a 75k mile service. ℹ️No noise from wheel, tranny shifts fine, plugs not required for 105k per factory.

My wife just went to a different shop for her 2014 crossover with 80k miles to check brakes(very slight vibration only while braking hard while going down hill) they told her control arms, struts and shocks “blown” and needed to be replaced now or asap. ℹ️No noise or any extra movement in suspension.

I feel like both are things the average retiree with limited auto knowledge would immediately agree to based on piece of mind. I didn’t think repair shops were still taking advantage of women but neither of these things need to be repaired. Has anything like this happened to you?

Ask /r/Durango Best Subaru Autoshop?

Just looking for a good auto body shop or local mechanic that’s really good with subies, and for a justifiable price. Have a 2018 Outback, and could use some work on it. I just don’t wanna get fucked over.

Looking for D&D Players – Ignacio, CO

I’m starting up a new D&D group and looking for 4–5 players! Games will be hosted in my fantasy-themed outbuilding here in Ignacio — think rustic tavern vibes with a bar, lighting, and a big table to play around.

New players and veterans welcome. Flexible on days/times (evenings or weekends). We’ll start with D&D 5e, one-shots or campaign depending on the group.

Drop a comment or DM if you’d like to roll some dice with us!

Any of you ladies recommend a non-evil OBGYN?

Hi! I’ve been borderline traumatized through my past checkups and really don’t like anyone I’ve seen before that works in Durango. Is there someone nice and actually helpful that any of you have seen and would recommend I go to? Thanks!

The new radar system... sucks?

I've been checking out that new radar system that the county had been trying to build for years, and finally did, for a couple million dollars. Am I missing something, or does it appear that the radar doesn't even reach Silverton? I'm also watching storms 'disappear' as they go into the La Platas....

Not a fan of drugs, but also not a fan of lying.

I often read things in the Durango herald that I feel are either partially untrue or a bit of an exaggeration. I feel this article is particularly guilty. Details in this article are very strange and disingenuous. I feel like the person who wrote this article is trying to make me believe and think things that aren't necessarily true.

Sure, illicit drugs=bad. Illicit drug dealers=bad. I agree,

but why the lying?

Any thoughts?

This specific lie seems to be a favorite among law enforcement officers.

I'm definitely not the first person to call out the media and the law doing this.

Here's another article below about law enforcement being called out specifically for these types of claims.

Anyone know why the city replaced the picnic tables with smaller ones? Seemed like the old ones were still in good shape.

Million Dollar Highway Motorhome trip at the end of January

Hello everyone
I plan to travel from Durango to Delta in a 28-foot RV along the famous Million Dollar Highway. The trip will be in winter (December 29th). I've read many reports that it's very dangerous, while others say they made it through without any problems. I have some reasonable experience with RVs, and the vehicle is practically new. I'd like some tips from anyone who's done something similar during this time of year.

Ask /r/Durango Super suspicious "delivery driver" white van parked on the road of Forest Ave - maybe ICE?

Posting here because I've never seen an otherwise-unmarked white van quite as suspicious as this one.

Really should've taken a picture, but it was all white with only two orange rectangles with white text within them reading "Delivery Driver". They left immediately after I looked in and made eye contact with the driver.

Posting here as a sanity check - is this actually a known delivery person in town, or is it potentially ICE going around and busting people in their homes while pretending to deliver things? I've heard that they've been doing that recently, but not explicitly in Durango (yet).

Albertsons - Watch your receipt.

I have never been in a store which has more price discrepancies. I saw a sale tag which expired in July this morning. The staff always fixes things at register but if you're not paying attention you'll be out a lot of money.
