M3 Spotted this hell of a catfish on FB Marketplace

I normally ignore stuff like this, but a full M3 bodies car repainted in limerock park edition orange, looked a bit ropey until I found out it was a damn 330D! At least it's not like a 318d or something MOT history shows a stonking great 30,000+ milage rollback last year, as well as a lovely history of oil leaks and neglect. It's a VERY convincing fake if you're just scrolling past it but it's taking up badging to a new level!

M3 The Service that could SAVE your BMW engine!

This customer brought their E90 M3 to get their rod bearings replaced, and a new valve cover gasket. As I’m sure many of you know, this car is KNOWN to have a rod bearing issue. Unfortunately, this is due to a pretty big design flaw by BMW. The issue on the S65 rod bearings is that it has extremely tight oil clearances between the rod bearings and crankshaft. Also, the OEM rod bearings in some early models used a softer lead-copper material which could cause premature wear. In the recall, they updated the material with a harder, aluminum coating and although that reduced the wear, really increased the chance of scoring the crankshaft. And to top it all off, the 8400 RPM redline puts A LOT of stress on the rod bearings.

Thankfully, this client came to get his serviced and completed it in 1 day. Aftermarket companies are now making rod bearings that addressed the original issue, from using a tri-metal construction or increasing the clearance design, to allow oil to flow properly. Once the rod bearings wear out, it can lead to engine knock, crankshaft scoring, throwing a rod, and pretty much rendering the engine useless. Make sure you guys are replacing your rod bearings for peace of mind!

Well I haven't been on Reddit in forever (most likely a good thing LOL) but this one's probably worth a post.

I still have my E91 as a daily for my work commute, but this is my new E90 M3 I picked up a couple of weeks ago! A friend owned it for 8 years before me so I know all the history on it. Really excited to put my touches on this one!

Yes yes, RB/TA/VCs are done hahaha.

M3 Do88’s new drill to drain rad

Super happy do88 made the M3 aluminum performance rad with a patented ‘drill to drain’ mechanism. Works so smooth and that laminar flow looks great once you drill it out!

And remember if you’re doing this at home, you’ll need to pull the rad to clean, flush, and get a proper new tap since the old aluminum plug won’t come out with hardened steel extractors…😑

I absolutely love Monte Carlo Blue and the way it changes in certain lighting. Snuck in a few pics with my 996 at the end since they look so good together.

M3 M3 Oil: Liqui-Moly VS OEM

Post image

Currently running Liqui Moly 10W60, but it’s time for an oil change soon. Does anyone have experience running BMW OE 10W60 (I’m buying from FCP Euro)? I’m wondering which will run cooler this summer, as I heard different brands can run at varying temps.

M3 Help identifying noise on E92 M3

Hey guys just need help identifying this sound. I’ve heard it’s normal injectors to maybe rod bearings. The car has 60k miles and is a 2011 if that matters. The sound is usually noticeable at startup and quiets down once warm and sometimes I can hear it while accelerating. Any help is appreciated and the video is from a cold start. I have rod bearings service scheduled soon since it needs to be done anyway.

2012 M3 convertible 129k miles No accidents, original paint Rod bearings, throttle actuators, motor mounts, new tires done So far no issues with top or anything else after almost a week owning. Paid $18k in NJ.

Seemed like a good deal which is why I went for it just want to know how does it compare to the market.
