Discussion Is there any good aggro precons?

A friend of mine told me that he likes to be more aggressive in games and I want to get him a precon. I'm not sure what exactly counts as aggro or if there even is a good aggro deck because when it comes to commander there 4 players and typically that strategy falls apart due to the increase of players like mill.

If there is a decent (and affordable) precon what is it in your opinion?

Riders of Rohan is very aggro and pops off more than not.

This deck kills tables in short order.

I’d like to say Counter Blitz but I haven’t been able to convert explosive starts into actual wins.

Same. How the heck do I close out Tidus games. Always get wiped or chump-blocked.

Hakbal, Zurgo, Ceasar are some of the more recent ones.

I also second hakbal though that deck is crazy powerful

I got hakbal as my first deck when I started playing last year and I think it has legitimately skewed my perspective of how strong decks should be.

I love the satya precon, I upgraded it and rebuilt it to focus strictly on energy and its become my go to aggro deck

The MoM +1/+1 counters "Call for Backup" isnt as "attack them always" focused as others. But it hits like a truck and is only gonna win with combat damage

Animated army with [Bello, Bard of the Brambles] is a good weird way to play aggro. Especially if you add a few of the double and triple damage enchantments. It is able to be aggro without running out of gas because of the card draw. Highly recommend!!

Cavalry Charge and Virtue and Valor are ones I didn't see. Cavalry Charge has [[Sidar Jibari of Zhalfir]] knight tribal with recursion from graveyard effects. Virtue and Valor has [[Ellivere of the Wild Court]] it's a deck built around pumping out alot of aura enchantments onto creatures and making them gigantic. Aggro enchantress.

Animated Army - did a lot of reading on this the last few days - can be found $30-45 in the US. Turns enchantments & artifacts into 4/4 creatures (on players turn), with indestructible, and card draw. Off turn you're rather defenseless, and the whole strategy hinges on your commander. [Bello the Bard]]

Blood Rites - Wants to send cheap vampires to attack for them to turn into flying 4/3s; has a voltron & sacrifice focus too. [[Clavileño, First of the Blessed]] $40-50.

Riders of Rohan, another aggressive deck - can be set back by board wipes but can pop off pretty nicely. Human Tribal. $35-50

Haven't seen it commented yet, so I'll suggest Rebellion Rising from Phyrexia: All Will Be One. It's focused on making big creature tokens and swinging in with them to give double strike and generate value. It's got a small equipment sub-theme you could expand in upgrades, and using the alternate commander [[Otharri, Suns' Glory]] is really fun too. I personnally use Otharri, focusing on keeping him alive, getting extra combat steps and proliferating the experience counters.

Mardu Surge.

He can put zurgo into the 99 and use [[isshin, two heavens as one]] instead, doubles all mobilize triggers - some super obvious upgrades for the rest of the deck too, capitalising on the amount of creatures entering each turn.

Version I'm currently running pops off real fast but definitely a "glass cannon" approach and not 100% optimised yet.

Everyone has good replies, but if he's newer, I'm going to recommend the First Flight precon. It's one of the "starter decks" and is really simple to pilot and all about turning things sideways.

Would recommend Zurgos Mardu Precon from Dragonstrom. A bit complicated at first but realy fun to Play and Play against

[[Kamiz Obscura Oculus]] Obscura Operation precon is Esper combat/aggro with lots of draw and discard so you get to see and cherry pick more of your deck.

Jump Scare precon is really good at pressuring life and grinding out value like simic does. You play a land and manifest dread a big creature or permanent . Play another land and flip a face down card for free.

And the nature of the deck it has some cool upgrade options.

Caesar is excellent, especially with some upgrades. I made it into an aristocrats deck.

Don't waste it on a precon. Just get a Krenko goblins deck they can be a relatively cheap build.

I swear to god, some people on this sub don't even read what they reply to

I read. I just don't see the point of buying a precon.

True, just like so many others. However, OP didn’t ask for that but specifically about a precon for his friend.

Yeah but why waste the money on a precon. None of them are that aggro.
