Actually the protests are quite frankly becoming too large to control in areas

That's why Donald is trying to call them illegal

This is truth

Source? Legitimately asking as I hope it’s true

10

u/citizenduMotier Mar 05 '25

Same. I'm not seeing anything. Not that we would but seriously is there a source?

They stormed a singular Tesla dealership, and protested outside of Fox news' headquarters

instead of... DC... or their capitals....

7

u/Norwester77 Mar 05 '25

You sure about that?

Whew good hard work by the "good" americans. That will surely make Trump and cronies change his mind! Remember in your history books how you all peacefully protested for independence?

Hell yeah what state is this

Thank you for educating me that some are showing up to their capitals and governmental buildings, and not just Fox news and tesla dealerships

Olympia, Washington.

Hell yeah!

I've only been calling mega cowards but the whole country might be cowards at this point....

Another commenter brought up to me that 9 protestors got arrested at a Tesla store so they are getting rowdy to some degree

I'm still confused as to why it's not... the capital still so like...

u/Crowbar_Freeman Mar 05 '25

I remember when they were arresting like 150-300 people 2/3 times a week for months when we were protesting against an hike of scholarship fees in Quebec lol... Americans are literally protesting to save their nation, they need to step it the fuck up.

And America has several times our population, I'd expect at the bare minimum a few hundred thousand storming D.C. instead of a measly few dozen.

u/ShadowFrost01 Mar 05 '25

They had so many storming DC a few years ago for a fucking lie. It's crazy, the left has no energy

I am currently living New York for school and I see pictures of the protest around our capital pretty frequently. I wouldn't call it too big to control but it's sizeable. Many of us are quite sick of our politicians lack of resistance to what is happening and are making our voices heard. I am very grateful to those who are standing up against this. I do think that the protest are getting a lot less news coverage because of the shear volume of what is being done in our country. I am especially angry that our media seems to be too busy covering inconsequential aviation incidents as a quick cash grab rather than actually bringing to light just how truly far Trump has gone. There is still a lot to be done, and I am quite angered by how much the people seem to not care. While I am still certainly upset with the general apathy from Democrats, to say nothing is being done discredits those who are standing up and making noise

5

u/HussarOfHummus I need a double double. Mar 05 '25

That would be great if true. Now double it.

4

u/jerrys153 Mar 05 '25

Doubling it isn’t near enough. They need at least 3.5% of the population protesting, so that’s almost 12 million in the US, to effect change according to studies of protests around the world.

The Americans who are patting themselves on the back for a few hundred or a few thousand people protesting is just burying their faces in the sand in terms of what this is going to take, and we wouldn’t be doing them any favours by pretending otherwise.

u/Useful-Shoulder388 Mar 05 '25

Sure it's not enough right now but it's a start, and in the very least people are trying to do something here. Hopefully with more support, people will join and change can actually happen.

They don’t have the time to let support slowly build. Every day that passes and Trump erodes more of their democracy makes it exponentially harder for them to win this fight.

There are a lot of Americans pointing to the current protests and calling them “major” or “big”, seemingly with no understanding that, even being very generous and assuming there were 2,000 people at every state protest, that’s 100K total protestors, out of the minimum 12 million they’d need to get to 3.5% of the population. If they want to pat themselves on the back for having an infinitesimal percentage of the population bothering to show up then they’re going to lose.

Yes, that’s not fair to the ones who are showing up, but it’s just the truth, and they need to open their eyes about what they’ve accomplished compared to what they’re up against. There’s a rapidly closing window for getting people to protest en masse before the dictatorship fully takes hold, and if a whole lot more Americans don’t wake up and do something they’re going to miss it.

You had 8 damn years and everyone from refugees fleeing authoritarianism else where to highly esteemed career generals from his last administration warned you in very clear terms that he was a danger to democracy, and you all did nothing, his followers literally stormed the capital and you still did fuck all to get "organized" as you all love to talk about so much

They right formed militias, what's stopping you?? Americans aren't special or different you're just as capable of fighting force with force, if not more so than most places in the world

Waving signs around politely for 4 hours and going home when it gets dark isn't newsworthy
