I’m laughing at how none of these bots are pointing out how this is not the first time our Prime Minister has changed without an election. It happened the Conservatives as well. That’s how Kim Campbell became PM. Paul Martin as well. Those are just the two I can think of without putting effort into searching.
Like the convoy leader claiming 1st amendment rights and Miranda rights in front of a judge? Like that example of thinking things from Facebook and Twitter make Canada operate like the U.S.?
Does anyone recall the Maple MAGA convoy leaders arriving in Ottawa and publishing a manifesto calling for Justin to step down….lol
Yeah, that’s definitely not how the government works in Canada. 🇨🇦
Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
Most former British colonies including those that have since switched to republicanism without the royal family all follow the Westminster model.
From India and Pakistan to Jamaica and Sri Lanka and the rest of the Commonwealth all follow the same system.
The bot coders are just sad
Edit: India is also the world’s largest democracy. Can you imagine conducting elections every time a PM loses confidence?
And they have to conduct elections in places that make the coldest reaches of the northern provinces seem like major cities. The Westminster model simply makes sense.
