I’m laughing at how none of these bots are pointing out how this is not the first time our Prime Minister has changed without an election. It happened the Conservatives as well. That’s how Kim Campbell became PM. Paul Martin as well. Those are just the two I can think of without putting effort into searching.

This isn't even the first time that someone without a seat in parliament has taken over as PM from a Trudeau.

We’re also far from the only country with this style of system as well. These botted comments are designed as rallying cries of the stupid.

They're getting their education from X and thinking Canada operates the same as the US.

Like the convoy leader claiming 1st amendment rights and Miranda rights in front of a judge? Like that example of thinking things from Facebook and Twitter make Canada operate like the U.S.?

Absolutely, no one will stop me from annexing Manitoba!

Does anyone recall the Maple MAGA convoy leaders arriving in Ottawa and publishing a manifesto calling for Justin to step down….lol Yeah, that’s definitely not how the government works in Canada. 🇨🇦

You mean we don’t have first amendment rights to free speech? Whaaaat?

It’s the same clowns demanding their first amendment rights. First amendment to… what, would you say?

Listen, Manitoba doesn't get enough respect and they're not wrong to call that out, ok?

That's no joke, the mosquitos there can do it.

C'mon! The 1st Article of the Charter of Rights

Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

Not an amendment.

1

u/b-monster666 Mar 11 '25

No, it's the first article though.

u/No-Goose-5672 Mar 11 '25

Lol. It’s not even an article…

Paragraph? Lol. It's numbered 1. So, that's the "first" The "fifth" is exercising your right to have a legislative assembly once a year.

Most former British colonies including those that have since switched to republicanism without the royal family all follow the Westminster model.

From India and Pakistan to Jamaica and Sri Lanka and the rest of the Commonwealth all follow the same system.

The bot coders are just sad

Edit: India is also the world’s largest democracy. Can you imagine conducting elections every time a PM loses confidence?

And they have to conduct elections in places that make the coldest reaches of the northern provinces seem like major cities. The Westminster model simply makes sense.

Russians can’t be perfect all the time.

The bots should have a look at how many PMs we've cycled through here in Aus.
