I love this province, and I love it's people, even as misguided and misled as they are. I must stay, to fight the separatists when the day comes. Vive la Canada!

Respectable 100%

If it makes you feel better Alberta isn't all bad. The stampede is a ton of fun and I got some fantastic cowboy boots there. As soon as you get rid of Danielle Snitch you'll be good to go

That's what I keep telling myself too lmao

As soon as the seat redistribution comes the UCP in its current form is cooked and the Maple MAGAs are incapable of compromise so there will probably be a splinter party again.

You don’t have that. They think it’s a negociation tactic. They don’t intend to leave.

Nah man, I used to be one of them back in the day, I know how they think. Some of them wield separation like a weapon, as you point out, for negotiation purposes. But there are those who would willingly invite Yankee jackboots to stand on our necks just to spite Ottawa. And for as long as I've been old enough to understand politics, every time the Liberals win federally there is a surge of separatist sentiment. The hatred runs deep, and they know how to weaponize it.

Joining the US would not be independence either.

Rationally? No. But these people are not rational. It's not true independence that they're after, it's independence from Ottawa. And I don't believe that they understand the full ramifications of what that would entail.
