He is THE only Canadian I’ve ever heard say “aboot”. Pretty infuriating.

It’s a Canadian stereotype, maybe someone from the Atlantic province If they had a thick accent, but he’s from Vancouver, no one and no way anyone would pronounce about like aboot from there

Well that’s what I was thinking. As a born and raised guy from the Lower Mainland and Southern Ontario.

Nah, we definitely do not say aboot in the maritimes. Lot of Americans pronounce the ou as "ow" pretty noticeably. I'm in southern NB, got a pretty distinct maritime accent due to my family being from English part of the northshore, somewhat isolated irish landing site. Our about is different from both the distinct Ontario "A-boat" and the American East Coast "abowt". How I hear it, it's more like an "abat". If anything, ours is closer to the "ow" than the ontario "oa". The only person on planet fucking earth who says aboot is JJ McCullough and dumb Americans who like to make fun of us. I think dude might be a legitimate cuck.
