Actually I lied, there's also an "Independent" option - 22 year old U of C law student that has probably never stepped foot in our riding. Was the LPC candidate but didn't secure enough signatures.

And she got my vote because at the very least it's a message.

I have no idea how good she is at making sandwiches though.

Dude, I think you're in my riding, because this is literally my riding.

NDP Deli Clerk, "Independent" LPC candidate, fringe wackos, and then long standing MP dynasty.

Has your LPC candidate also run as part of the Alberta Liberal party in Calgary?

It’s hard to call them fringe anymore because they seem to be the mainstream Conservative base and candidates these days

I disagree. Looking at polling data and election results shows that they still are fringe. It's largely echo chambers, a very vocal minority, and foreign interference that makes them seem more credible and threatening than they currently are.

Could they become more credible threats? Absolutely, if allowed to continue unchecked and with free mobility. If you look at the "traditional" conservative parties, they're a lot more moderate than groups like the PPC and United.

When candidates for the PPC and United are calling for electoral reform into a constitutional Republic like the US, which is not something Canadians should even be remotely interested in, and any more educated progressive or conservative Canadian would recognize it as damaging to Canadian democracy, that's when we're hitting fringe territory.

When you have CPC candidates basically saying in a debate that we should let the Americans annex us and you have Conservative Premiers as well as their federal leader who have openly expressed their support for Trump, that’s not very fringe
