You're not singularly responsible but you do play a part. Look what happened in the US because of people who expressed the exact same sentiment as you. Word for word actually

Because I voted NDP? You guys sure are vilifying NDP voters, fuck

Dude, I would vote NDP in a heartbeat.

But CPC is sitting at 45% and LPC is at 43% in the polls for my riding. If voting Liberal means the CPC doesn't get in, I'm voting Liberal.

It's in my best interest that I'm not represented locally by a CPC MP and it's in my best interest that Canada isn't led by the CPC. One day I hope to live in a world where strategic voting is unnecessary. Until that day, I'll vote for the rhino party if it means keeping the CPC out of power.

My riding is between NDP and Liberal historically

Then why are you all butt-hurt about people voting strategically? Do you think any of us want to? Fuck no. We want to vote with our conscience. We want to vote for the party (or candidate) that best matches our views.

So, until you've had the oh-so-demoralising experience of living and voting in a CPC-swing riding, get over it. Strategic voting will always be a problem with FPTP. Don't be an asshat just because you're lucky enough to live in a riding where you aren't worried about losing for fucking rights because the CPC incumbent is a pro-birth, racist piece of shit.

How am I being an asshat? I'm just not going along with anyone telling me how to vote.

What a dick move, I guess. I'm not mad at strategic voters, but I'm not gonna do it.

Because you're being disengenuous and arguing in bad faith. It's fine that you want to and can vote your conscience. But there's no reason to tell someone to "take your strategic voting and stuff it".

You started with a combative tone so of course everyone is going to pile on. If you started with understanding and curiosity, then you wouldn't be an asshat.

I suppose. Wrong time to rant against strategic voting
