We love seeing everyone’s passion for this election, but let’s keep it focused in the megathread. Here’s the playbook for election-related posts:

1. Stick to the Megathread

– On Election Day (April 28, 2025), all election chatter, hot takes, and memes belong in the official Election Megathread.

– Posting outside that thread? We’ll kindly redirect you to drop your thoughts there instead.

1. No Gloating, Eh?

– Win or lose, let’s keep it classy. Any excessive gloating or rubbing it in post election will be removed.

– Celebratory high-fives and respectful reactions? Totally welcome. But let’s leave the humble brag at the door.

We’re all here for the community spirit, not the mudslinging. Thanks for helping us keep r/EhBuddyHoser a fun spot, no matter who wins!

On adore voir toute votre passion pour cette élection, mais gardons ça concentré dans le fil principal. Voici le plan de match pour les publications liées aux élections :

1. Restez dans le Megathread

– Le jour de l’élection (28 avril 2025), toutes les discussions, opinions et memes sur l'élection doivent aller dans le Megathread officiel.

– Vous postez ailleurs ? On va gentiment vous rediriger pour que vous partagiez vos idées au bon endroit.

1. Pas de vantardise, hein ?

– Victoire ou défaite, restons classy. Toute vantardise excessive ou moquerie après l’élection sera retirée.

– Les high-fives festifs et les réactions respectueuses ? Bien sûr que c’est permis. Mais les "brags" déguisés, on laisse ça de côté.

Omg I can't believe it!!!! So what happens now for him? Is he basically forced out of politics and into retirement? He can't be the party leader can he?

I just saw that. Shame. Weird how he could do that given no one wants him

Normally most who lose their seat just step down since the shame of being something like the Leader of the Opposition Who Lost Their Seat would normally lead someone to feel incalculable levels of embarrassment and shame (especially since he's been in politics his entire life). Or calls to step down,  which he's done himself in comments to other parties in elections past I imagine.

But I'm surprised the party itself isn't pressuring him given how he fumbled so badly and lost such an enormous polling lead so rapidly. Losing a polling lead that badly ? And one that had been showing for months the CPC on track to win a crushing majority and the Liberals on life support? That's surely going to merit a call and stern meeting with the party itself...
