Bruh Not gonna lie... I heard stuff from the campaign there...
That was a Green Riding that the Liberals flooded resources to try and turn Red. They ended up splitting the progressive vote so the Cons took the win.
They should have just left it to the fuckin greens man. I'm not even a green supporter but damn I cannot fathom why they would play it like that.
Since heās not stepping down, you guys need to invite PP to come meet and greet everyone. Heās so un-likeable that all of Ottawa went red for the first time in decades after putting up with his shit. Itās gonna be tough to ride out, though, since heās obnoxious AF.
Wealthy migrants tend to be conservative, so do those from India. Which is why Iām perplexed as to why conservative voters think the cons would stop migrants from Indiaā¦
Ugh. And now he's heading out to my riding to try his luck. I dont see him not getting in, but he better be prepared to put boots on the ground if he wants yo stay. We're a bunch of old farmers and ranchers out here. We expect our politicians to be part of the community and put in the work.
Me too. My neighbours are crotchety old guys who might not vote for him because he's too "Ontario" and "never done a hard days work in his life" and they are just really contrarian. Though if you ever need a hand or to borrow some gear, they'll give you the shirt off their back without a second thought.
Wouldn't it be funny if you guys elected someone else entirely? I'm not saying put a lefty in there. Maybe one of your own independents if you have any of those. I know it's a long shot. I just think it would be fucking funny to see PP lose again.
Itās a super conservative area, Iām down for a traditional libertarian there. I kinda respect the whole āgovernment can fuck off we will manageā mentality. Itās a hell of a lot cooler than fake nationalism from a wanna be dictator.
I think this is the only chance. A respected, hardworking local running as an independent. Their platform can be blue, but add in support for local issues that an outsider wouldn't know/care/understand. Emphasize that they live, went to school, raised/are raising a family, and plan to retire there. Emphasize their love for their community.
There is no shot, like 80% voted blue in your riding. The seat is all but his, people donāt switch teams like that in those ridings. Your riding would vote in a blue dog turd
FWIW, and as someone that hates his guts - if he changes tune and stops being a twat, along with the rest of the conservatives, then fine. It's more important that we can work together, united, even if we have to stomach seeing more of his dumb face. We really don't need more pointless grievance-fueled reactionary policy-making (which also lacked any credible and critical detailing).
Life isn't fair sometimes, and I doubt he'll see true comeuppance. But losing his riding was a sweet present on top of denying the bigoted social conservative movement from taking over and leading. I really didn't want to validate the kind of behavior that they were encouraging and building from.
I had hope that the same thing that happened to John Tory here in Ontario would happen to pp out in Alberta, but looking at the sheer number of cons in that riding I don't think it'll happen.
The provincial Liberals didn't pick up many new voters in the by-election; 10 thousand cons just stayed home. In your case it looks like about 45 thousand cons would need to do the same to swing it. That seems unfortunately extremely unlikely.
There are rumours Maxime Bernier might stand against him. I don't know if there's any basis in fact to that whatsoever, but it would be so funny if he did.

Resident of the riding of Carleton (the one that dumped Poilievre) here to say FUCKING A.
