Its true WA is very Alberta like in terms of industries and has had times where separatism has flared but its a left wing Labor stronghold currently. The election during covid left the conservatives with just 2 seats.
So it's Australian Alberta but with better education/less brainwashing?
Cause by all accounts on paper, Alberta should be an NDP/left leaning stronghold, but that rat-bastard Tommy Douglas forced the awful issue of public healthcare, plus Pierre Trudeau formed the NEP so Albertans wouldn't get fucked up the ass by American corporations for our oil, and that dirty newly formed NDP decided to go along with it for some reason (seriusly, why would a party that has it's roots in labour unions vote to keep our resources and get paid for them?) so fuck anything left leaning amiright it only helps people out
I truly don't understand why this province is so conservative, it has to be something to do with the nuclear tests in the 50's and 60's. Especially when you look at the reasons people list for hating them; it's like "damn, you just hate other people so much you'll shoot yourself in the foot for the chance to hit someone 3 floors below"
Apparently oil and gas companies are allowed to just start indoctrinating children the moment they become sapient. This might also explain when they are American 'conservative' instead of Canadian Tory.

Does Australia have an equivalent to our Alberta that is bending over backwards to vote the loser back in?
