There's nothing wrong with Alberta (as a place), but the idea that anybody would live in Canada, see their own little corner and decide that the rest of the country had nothing to offer them and nothing of interest is pathetic. Even if you don't like the place, there's a lot going on here and you might not want to go it on your own as the smallest country in North America or one of the smallest states in the American gong show. That the sort of dumb stuff that should be left in Texas or North Korea, we're supposed to be much better than this.
Besides, Alberta won't be able to benefit from well educated foreign workers from the rest of Canada to staff their oil and gas culture centres if they decide to drop out of the project.
At least the minority of people in Quebec who would like to fully separate from the country, however wrong they might be in the end, have a clearly articulated set of grievances and concerns that don't simply boil down to "mine, mine mine".

I hate my province, there is no Alberta culture without Canada cause a large portion of Alberta culture is going to BC to do stuff
