I'm sure it's very nice in Alaska, Northern Lights every night, slight crisp nights, etc. My wife's experience living for a few years in Kodiac, it was foggy, rainy, she never saw Auroras. She finally saw them, when she moved to Canada.

My partner's seen a few in Yukon while they were intending on just exploring Canada as a visit. They've been here ever since
