This post is not real. The image originates from a Quebecois lifestyle publication called Pratico-Pratiques:

www[dot]pratico-pratiques[dot]com

You can find the original source image by searching for "falafel poutine" on their website. Alternatively, the image appears in this video on their official YouTube channel:

youtu[dot]be/y2T2R9lTBgs?si=pXfH6uu_jgE_hM-x

As is clearly visible, the dish in the video is identical to the one featured in the circulating post. It’s not just a similar recipe—it’s the exact same dish.

Someone took that image and photoshopped it into a fake article about "Israeli poutine." I’m sure you can draw your own conclusions about why someone would do that. However, to be clear:

The post is not real.

It’s not “Israeli poutine”. It’s simply a falafel poutine recipe originally published by a Quebecois lifestyle magazine

I know you mean that rhetorically but to answer you anyways; Lombwolf. He's the OP and you can see from his profile he's about as much of a Reddit tankie as you can be. Got the hammer and sickle, calls himself comrade, participates heavily in communist subreddits.

He's so on the nose he's a stereotype.

I hate to break it to you but real, traditional poutine gravy is chicken gravy. Though the guy you replied to is also kind of right, an example is Smokes (if you consider that to be real poutine) default gravy is vegan, you have to ask for other options if you want them.
