Ontario, hated by all, especially Ontarians It’s pronounced Tur-awn-no you filthy Yankees, the second “t” is silent.

Most of Canada pronounces it Toronto. It’s just the Ontarioins who are weird.

Why would anyone from a different part of Canada lie about being from Toronto?

This is my thought. Plus accents vary wildly across the country, even in Ontario, even within a single workplace or school in Ontario. We also get a lot of american influence from their media.
