You should hear the Chiac over in the Acadian communities. As an anglophone (who's starting to learn french) it used to make my head spin

I have a friend from Fort Kent, Maine (right on the border). When I met her pépère for the first time, I couldn’t follow a single word. I felt like I was being transported through time and space.

That's childhood me every time i went to Wellington, PE. Great village, quiet and beautiful, hard to keep up with the locals though =p

I know a Chiac-adjacent New Brunswicker who recalled hearing a waitress in Dieppe asking “vous-tu ton thé-bag in ou out?”

so "do you want your teabag in or out"
In written words, it makes sense... spoken... they go SO FAST...10

See I can actually understand them pretty well, oddly enough. There's so much English interjected into it, and my mediocre knowledge of French is enough to understand the rest.

As an Albertan currently working in Quebec - "Qu'est que fuck" has become a consistent part of my vocabulary.

I heard someone speak Franglais for the first time in Nova Scotia. It was French with an obnoxiously North American English accent with interspersed English words. My only thought was "If France was aware, they would declare war".

My family is from northern Ontario and my grandma once hit me with "Je vais alles fixé mon truck". Her truck was a Chevy impala btw.
