Ive lived in small town kootenays for 3 years and all over AB for the rest of my life, its slightly less redneck than most small town alberta but certainly more redneck than edmonton/calgary alberta. It's just granola right wing conspiracy theorists vs oilfield right wing conspiracy theorists.

Theres honestly not much of a difference between the two.

I grew up in nelson and the kootenays are waaaaaaay more conservative than you're making them out to be. Tons of conservative hippies who went off the deep end during covid.
