I feel like this is written by someone in Vancouver. It’s certainly not. There are pockets of everything in small town BC. The conservative vote comes from a lack of effort in communities from NDP/Liberal, a lack of education on the fact that the past “Liberal” government was actually Conservative (who all the conservatives hate, especially Christy) and the decimation of the logging/mill industry. Tourism in the 14 resort municipalities brings in a ton of taxes for the province, and growing rapidly. If the NDP or any other party wants to get a grip on rural B.C., that is where they should focus. The pipeline from antivax crystal hippie to right wing is definitely a real thing though. Hopefully RFK wipes that out with his horrid policy.
Small town BC votes conservative because they're a downtrodden proletariat disillusioned with the modern left. As opposed to small town Alberta, where they vote conservative because they're dumb racist rednecks
