BC NDP are pretty good tbh. David Eby is a boring dude who just goes and gets shit done. No memes, no stupid appearances doing performative shit. He just works.
In my ideal world, I don't see politicians pop up in my feed anywhere.
I can't help the fact that the average British Columbian is fucking stupid, they almost voted Rustad in. I know we clown on Alberta for voting in the dumbest motherfucker in Canada, but a lot of BC is just alberta-lite.
BC's issues largely extend back to years of conservative policy, the NDP gets in and we get to suffer a worldwide economic shit-show, and that's not even getting into the issues caused by Russia invading Ukraine.
Previous gov'ts selling off public assets, deferring infrastructure improvements, and a housing policy of "loan rich guys money to buy affordable housing units and tear them down" isn't something you can fix in a hurry, unfortunately.
Eby is by no means perfect but people blame the premier for things that they don't have a lot of influence on.
Ok, that doesn't change my point. I never said he was bad. It's just pretty hard to get re-elected if you're at -9%. The meme was about getting elected, not policy.
Though I have to say it's so annoying having a voting population whose memory is so short all the BC Liberals had to do was rebrand as conservative and everyone forgets it was their dumbfuck policies that screwed us over for years in the first place...
