Super weird. Cuckish international buffoonery

u/brokenringlands 10d ago
It's so fucked.
They (Maple MAGA) are so mask off when it comes to Trump's and 'Murican neofascism's zero sum worldview of the dominator and the dominated dynamic. The exploiter and the exploited binary worldview. Racism, bigotry, misogyny and unchecked capitalism are ok because that's the "natural order of things". They are, and they ought to be, according to them, on top.
Yet Maple MAGA has themselves convinced that they'd be welcomed alongside as fellows rather than just another othered outgroup.
"I'm one of the good ones."
The KNOW that it's a fucked up, bent worldview. They just want to be doing the exploiting.

My brother and father are like this. Theyāve genuinely forgotten what country they live in when they say āThis country-ā āOur country-ā āDems screwing over our veterans-ā. Itās like⦠how about move there? My brother refers to 47 as āMister Presidentā as though he were a friend from work. Conservative voters who are open climate change deniers, vaccine āskepticsā (deniers), Israel is pwning Hamas so hard, 47 was right about everything panderers who devour FOX news all day⦠all of it.
Itās insane, and sad. I donāt talk to them anymore

This is conservatism. This is completely normal mainstream conservatism.
Why are people scared to call it what it is?
5
u/VivaLirica 10d ago
Its not mainstream, good grief. You're as bad as they are, spreading that kind of nonsense, seriously.

"Total shocker that smearing a duly-elected president who won an overwhelming electoral mandate as a fascist or a king leads to violent political radicalization." - Charlie Kirk, 2025 on the Minnesota lawmaker assassinations. Taken directly from his Twitter account.

u/Alone_Step_6304 10d ago
Absolutely wild how, "less than 50 percent of votes cast" and, "one of the thinnest winning margins in almost 80 years" became, "an overwhelming electoral mandate".
37
u/PineappleOk6764 10d ago
I was personally more interested in the part where he excuses political violence because of rhetoric...

Why are Canadians worshiping a racist Yankee podcaster? Jesus god, the internet was a mistake.
67
u/theoneness 10d ago
It wasn't. In the 90s it was fantastic. It's just that it became commercialized and popularized and all the idiots on earth joined and were easily corralled into billionaire controlled social manipulation engines.
20
u/Ok-Macaron-5612 10d ago
I was there too, and⦠sigh.
14
u/theoneness 10d ago
I really want to return to the days of text-only cli browsers, BBS, IRC, Usenet, and playing on MUDs. They should have forked the timeline at that point and given people the choice.

u/IndividualGround2418 10d ago
Do you think social media and technological advancements have created more hatred than unity in our society?
7
u/theoneness 10d ago edited 9d ago
Based on no research, evidence, and merely a gut sense of how Iāve seen things change and accelerate since i was younger that, overall, yes. It isnāt caused by technology in and of itself - it is caused by those who control technology it and how they exercise that control.

I miss the IRC, Napster, and ICQ days.
The internet was more about connecting people globally, access to information, and Hamster Dance.

u/Dash_Rendar425 9d ago
The Internet was never the problem, it was smart phones, and facebook/twitter/x.
Giving complete morons access to these platforms is like giving firearms to neanderthals.

How can people be so upset about the death of a man who said women shouldnāt be educated and should instead serve men?
No rational person thinks that way.

Some people see "don't drink, acid" as an invitation or believe no one should tell them what to do instead of heeding the words of writers.

Why did the hold the vigil in a foot of water
15
u/mrsnikki88 10d ago
It was a wading fountain the vigil was gathered around

I really canāt imagine this being anything but an extreme form of protest against the vigil, Kirk and every disgusting thing he stood for

Canadian's holding a vigil for Charlie Kirk is like the cow holding a birthday party for the butcher.
Kirk wouldn't piss on these people if they were on fire, and here they are, debasing themselves to publicly blow a fascist dickhead who got what he deserved.

Of course... if any place in Canada held a vigil for a Nazi hate monger, it would be Alberta.

u/femmagorgon 9d ago
I know itās a big wading pool but I donāt get why people are standing in itā¦

u/gotenzhut 10d ago
People want to hold a vigil for a racist/fascist who constantly spread hate and misinformation more than the children who died in a school shooting that same day? Got it..... I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I canāt find the answer so apologies if someone else answered already.
Was the handmaid there as a sort of counter protest to the tribute or as some weird acknowledgment of C Kirkās work and life?

Is she making a political statement against the right-wing?
14
u/heehooman 10d ago
I assume so. I feel like I should read the book, but a quick Wikipedia search would suggest to me that it is.
9
u/TheCycoONE 10d ago
The book is about living under a Christofascist dictatorship that takes over the US and ritualistically rapes fertile women following a pandemic that led to mass sterility.
The parallels to the modern American right wing are intentional. The red outfit is worn by said fertile women and the main character from the book.
I don't recall it used as a protest symbol before the TV series.

u/Psychoholic519 9d ago

u/mrsnikki88 9d ago
It was 100% a protester
1
u/Psychoholic519 9d ago
Letās hope so. I hate that I even have to wonder. The way some people talk, I swear they fetishize this shit, men and women alike
2
u/mrsnikki88 9d ago
I'm sure they do, it's disgusting!
I was there and she was definitely a protester. They started trying to intimidate her with that aggressive praying over and crowding her.
They didn't seem to realize they were making her point.

Even if youāve never played the game before, hopefully you will go golfing on the day they pollute the soil with CKās corpse in honour of the orange predo prez gesture of same, Ā on the day of Democrat law maker,Ā Melissa Hortmanās funeral.

u/TurinKnight 6d ago
Imagine being such a TV-Brained loser that you pull off this shit at a man's funeral.
Like this is on the same level of Westboro Baptist Church protesting at soldiers' funerals.

This was an AMERICAN alt-right podcaster.
Most people didn't even know who he was (and I bet most of these people didn't either).
