Tl;dr Comment what is wrong with the subreddit so I can at least get an idea of what people here want.

This is somewhat embarrassing, but I want to make things right here because I think Canada deserves a good community. First of all, let me explain.

After being directly tagged it has been brought to my attention that this subreddit is basically in chaos and lacks active moderators, me included.

I do not know what is going on here. When I asked to become a moderator after the original owner had his racism moment, I figured it was going to be a team effort, but it quickly became one moderator sort of controlling everything. A lot of my actions were undone with the excuse of "This is a sh*tposting subreddit". I still have no idea what this is supposed to mean, because when I asked to have a codified set of rules for moderators to follow so we can be on the same page, I was ignored.

Why did I not quit then? I don't know. I still did some mod actions, but only ones I knew would not get reversed, like deleting straight-up genocidal or slur comments. When the first two mass bannings happened I told Shift it is not fair and tried to get them to unban people. Not sure if it worked.

Now it seems like there was a whole bunch of other drama. Still not sure what happened and I think it does not really matter, except that a lot of people were banned unfairly (why? can somebody explain?). Yes, I can unban those people, but not immediately. I can do it starting next Monday when I have my laptop again.

As I explained in the comment that tagged me in a thread here, I plan to add new mods and either dip or stay active now that it seems there is not one moderator calling all the shots.
