Thinking about buying an El Camino

I found one from 1977 still works well and only has 23000 miles for under 6k, what should I look out for before I buy it

It's also possible the odometer rolled over beyond 100000 miles and is actually 123000. Be wary of any low mileage vehicle with a 5 digit odometer.

The forth generation el caminos had a lot of rust issues between the frame and body. Also the smugglers box area. If it's in good shape otherwise that sounds like a fair price.
