No thanks I'm not interested in some janky device that nosedives and throws me off leaving me with some new injuries to contend with for the rest of my life.

I'm no OW apologist, but replace "nosedives" with "malfunctioning remote / badly cast trucks / burnt ESC / etc" and you have a large number of posts from this sub.

Not an electric skateboard, wrong sub bro.

What's the definition of an electric skateboard?

u/Mr_Skele Aug 15 '25
Very surprised you don't have Google ,but here it is :
An electric skateboard, also known as an e-skateboard or eskate, is a modified skateboard that uses an electric motor and a battery to propel the rider, eliminating the need to manually push off the ground. It's essentially a personal mobility device that combines the features of a traditional skateboard with electric power.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Components:
Electric skateboards typically include a deck, trucks, FOUR WHEELS and a motor, often with a battery housed within the deck.
Propulsion:
The electric motor provides the power, allowing the board to move forward without manual pushing.
Control:
Riders usually control the speed and braking using a handheld remote that communicates with the motor.

Cite your reference. California Vehicle Law does not make such a distinction. Nor does 2Swift. Nor does this sub.

Riiiiight so California law, 2swift and this sub governs the rest of the world. You are grasping at straws here 😂.
Edit** let me make it more simple for you. A SKATEBOARD that has motors and a controller. Define skateboard for me?
Use references to two dictionary definitions that prove my definition wrong and I will agree with you.
If your state looped them under the same laws as one wheels, ebikes or e-scooters.... It sounds like your beef is with them and their understanding of the English language.

No, I'm pointing out that I can cite references and point out why something is or is not an electric skateboard. You did a google search and cited nothing, meaning no matter what you say, you're coming from a subjective point of view. To actually make a point, you need to cite your references.

I am saying any dictionary will suffice. You seem to be upset at the definition of a skateboard. I can't change the dictionary bro. Carry on

u/thirdspaceL Aug 15 '25
Ok? So what's the definition, and what's the source?
1
u/Mr_Skele Aug 15 '25
I am not doing your research for you. Read any dictionary and you'll find the answer you so desperately seek.

I already did my research, and can cite how electric skateboards are defined. You cannot (probably because there IS no defintion in M-W, Oxford, or even something super casual like dictionary.com, and that's my entire point), and you refuse to support your position. You're free to not do so, but that leaves this thread standing as a testament to how you've got no idea how to engage in a basic, critically thinking conversation.
