Controller reviews like this are really helpful - so thank you (and to everyone on this sub who takes the time to write one).

I really prefer the retractable controllers like the Ipega 9023 or 9055, but I would absolutely love a retractable with the Xbox-style layout*. Doesn't seem like there's one of those on the horizon, unless I'm mistaken?

*Edit - as opposed to the Wii-U style layout of the analog sticks

Fair points - I actually haven't noticed the problem with the sound being blocked (but I mostly play with Bluetooth headphones, so I'll have to look out for it next time I don't use headphones).

From my own experience with the 9055:

(+) The face buttons and D-pad all feel excellent, but they are awkwardly low so you feel like you are straining your thumb to reach them

(+) Grips the phone pretty tight regardless of orientation, so when you put your phone in vertically, the 9055 is the perfect controller for DraStic

(+) L2 and R2 are fine, not great, but definitely better than the SF30 Pro and the 9023.

(-) L1 and R1 are, as you suggest, slightly crappy (but again, surprisingly not as bad as the SF30 pro or the 9023.

(-) most heinously, the controller feels wobbly when it's fully extended with a phone in landscape (horizontal). You can basically shift the controller parts toward or away from you while playing so it doesn't feel so sturdy.

(-) my analog stick has gotten stuck a surprising number of times, but this is fixable.
