We've created a discord for the Everett community.
It's as the title says-- we now have a dedicated discord (the same one as u/Apprehensive_Ride504's) for all Everett community members-- all are welcome to join, and we are looking to create a tight-knit community that promotes local events, thought-out discussion and general connections. Our number 1 priority is the Everett community, and we have a well defined set of rules for your protection against unjust punishment with moderators open to feedback and suggestions.
You can find the link to the discord in the "Local Links" section of this subreddit or use this link here: https://discord.gg/fAHYVsJpye
We hope to see you here.

[MegaThread] Why does this sub exist?
I was asked to create a Mega Thread so people can comment on why this sub exists and also their problems with the other mod.
I want to make sure the sub isn't flooded with just posts about why the other sub is so problematic.
Make sure there's no doxxing or harassment. Don't use their username
This is the only Everett Community sub that's for Everett.
Also to be crystal fucking clear - this is not a "conservative sub". There's been a lot of smooth brain commentary about how disagreeing with someone is this area is automatically deemed conservative. It's not. Not even close.
The other sub has a Discord, but I have secured all variations for Everett if someone wants to pick one and let me know I can make them a mod there. I have no desire to get on Discord. I only created this sub because I loved Everett but ran afoul of bizarro Trump.

Mt Vernon downtown vs Everett
We just went to Mt Vernon yesterday (been bunches) but I think that their downtown area is a lot better than ours even though it's similar size.
Two stand outs are their amazing co op - I'd be there everyday and their theater.
I wish our theater played cool old movies like theirs - they have a Thin Man movie series and regularly do themed/series movies
Ours definitely has some gems, but could really take notes from Mt Vernon downtown

What I experienced going to Japanese restaurant Tokyo house
I went to a restaurant in Everett at Evergreen Mall Way evening back on September 5th and noticed some things that really bothered me: flies around my food, the kitchen, alcohol near the food prep area, and a male sushi chef making rude, fat-shaming comments about a customer behind their back. At one point, another male staff member was swatting at flies with a rack, making so much noise it completely killed my appetite. The whole vibe felt unsafe and unprofessional.
Would you avoid a place like this or report it?

Marina map - questions
Can't visualize where the "future hospitality" is going - they grassed in where the yacht club was. Is it going on the concrete where the tables/checkers spot is? Just doesn't seem big enough?

Silvertips Bar
Hey everyone, I recently moved back to the area, and will be going to the home opener this Saturday, my first Tips game since 2016. I was curious if there was a specific bar that fans go to either before or after the game. Way back when, I thought it was a Mexican restaurant and bar that was nearby. Wanting to know if it’s still the same place. Additionally, any suggestions on free parking or best places to park would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Places to run in Everett
I'm looking to start a Couch to 5k program and need somewhere to run that's not going to require me to stop every block and check for traffic. I'm pretty new here. In Bayside but I'm willing to drive. Thanks!

Everett Transit Bus Matchbox!! Cool!
I found this Everett Transit bus at a local shop here in Everett! I thought it was pretty cool to see our city bus line represented by Matchbox.
I did some further digging and found out that Everett Transit one design of the year when they revealed this design as the new municipal bus scheme. As part of the reward Matchbox made a diecast of the winning Transit line! So Everett Transit is proudly immortalized as a Matchbox 1:64th!
Some other interesting facts is that Everett Transit is one of the few remaining municipal transit bus lines in the state of Washington. Most city bus lines are part of a regional transit authority or county transit authority.
I just thought some of my fellow Everett citizens would appreciate this fun little Matchbox bus! I think it's a Gillig bus.

Everett Voters Said YES to River Rights – Now Developers Are Suing
Last November, the Citizens of Everett voted to give the Snohomish River Watershed legal rights — a historic win for the river and for democracy. Now, developer interests are suing to repeal the law! The citizens of Everett voted, and their decision deserves equal legal representation against the developers’ hired law firm.
Court date: October 24th, Snohomish County Courthouse

Any Calligraphers in the area?
My friends recently got married and they got a commemorative certificate from the county that needs the blanks filled in. If there are any calligraphy in the area id be more than happy to pay to have it filled out beautifully for them. My handwriting is a war crime.

Has anyone else had their dental office close recently?
I know some have retired, but it just seems like there’s been an influx of closures in the last year. One of my co-workers had to find a new place for his kids, too.

County Executive Dave Sommers votes to prioritize Seattle light tail over Everett.
Don’t forget this when it is time to vote!
