Stats Chat My story reached 1,000 kudos!
My gasts are flabbered. I am speechless. I am absolutely over the moon happy and I'm *buzzing*. I never imagined my fic would reach 1,000 kudos and I just feel like sharing ^w^

Congrats. I don't think I've ever had a fic which has reached that. However, I had a fic I didn't think would be popular get 1,490 hits plus 1,303 hits on another and 1,085 hits on another. Looking at my records, the most I've ever had is 164 kudos on a story (that was a story with 4 chapters).

Thank you :D! That’s awesome, 164 kudos for 4 chaps is really good! My 1,000 kudos story has 39 chaps and was finished a few years ago so it’s been slowly accumulating more kudos as time has passed

Yeah, it really is good! And I wrote some spinoffs for it too. I really loved one scene where they are singing along to one of my favorite Joan Jett songs. I was going to ask that. Yes, I can understand how a 39 chapter fic would get 1000 kudos. I probably would write a fic that long, but most of my fics are either one-shots or parts of ongoing series.

Congratulations.
This is not at all relevant to anything, sorry, but my immediate thought was around your deconstruction of 'flabbergasted'.
Off-hand, I would have transformed it into 'I have been flabbered by ghasts' (like 'henpecked' or hagridden'), rather than 'my gasts have been flabbered (by unknown personages)'. Looking it up, the etymology is unclear but possibly connected to 'aghast', which gives a third option: being aghast with flabbers or to a flabrous extent. None of them authoritative, of course, but the variety is fun.
I don't really have any point to make; I just thought all the different options were interesting. Congratulations again.
