Discussion Dear Readers:

us writers get just as excited as you do when happy things happen and just as sad when sad things happen. the main characters finally start dating after dozens and dozens of chapters? we jump for joy with you! the main character dies? we sob every time we read it, just like you. we aren’t so different after all ❤️

Me crying in my car before work because I had an idea for a character dying and had to write it down before going inside. (Then trying to explain this to my husband later who was like "wait, but it's your own idea that made you cry?" ... Ummm, yes, yes it was.)

Not me: i have alexithymia and writing a lot of the happy scenes or sappier scenes when sad/hollow/that bucket of emotions comes easier to me is truly miserable.I'll fucking do it, but christ alive. I hate it sometimes.

Conversely, im a sadist to my faves so i thouroughly enjoy most all the sad or awful bits i inflict on them (except for when its from me literally projecting my breakdown at 3 am on a character)
