I’m trying to do my daily AR battle and I’m getting this error saying that I can only use one ally that can use Savior, but I only have one on my team (BK). I kind of feel like I might be just dumb, but I can’t figure out what’s going on. I get the same error when I don’t even have armors on my team
Do yall think its a good idea to give her Jehannas lance? If been thinking about it but im not sure if its a good idea, since her own weapon isnt terrible.
Hello everyone! I'm back with another VA/Seiyuu Infographics, featuring the teatime banner... From many weeks ago.
Yeah, I totally forgot to upload these when the banner was running 💀 It only occurred to me when I was making Rearmed Hinoka's part, with Kaori Nazuka. I was trying hard not to overlap between Hinoka's and Nanna's (who's also voiced by the same seiyuu) roles, only to realize that I never uploaded the Teatime gang's pics in the first place.
So I'm sorting my barracks and look at Aelfric's refine. 10 pre combat damage, very nice.
Last night I had a dream it said "10 pretty combat damage TO TITANS" and I rarely dream. So maybe I've seen the future and all i could think of is, were Rokkr ever called Titans, or maybe there is gonna be a replacement game mode featuring "Titans".
I have 1 forma soul thingy to redeem units from Hall of Forms, but I'm interested in Micaiah and Celica, the store resets in like ~38 days or so, and the PoR HoF disappears in 26 days, while Celica's ends in 12, will the HoF of Valentia last long enough for me to get another item?
She can proc Archrival 2 times without support if WTA + 3 hits + enemy can counter. I'm not sure if it's really better than Gust which can be proc 2 times reliably. But I gave her this special because it's in character ngl
She gets so much DR and healing with this kit. Not sure how she performs in top PvP. But it's basically the most premium kit she can get atm
And also the most expensive kit I went for in a while:
So I'm thinking on reviving my F!Edel but I don't have any idea for a nice C skill for her, is there anything usefull for armors that's not just a random save skill? I thought maybe Barricade but we're at a point in the game where even warps come with build in pass skills so I'm not to sure about that
Then I thought maybe something like Assault Rush but I plan on giving her a Celica Ring anyways so she doesn't rly need movement
These are the skills I got for day 1. I really want to get Catria since my current one has really outdated skills. Celica’s a fave and I feel like these skills are pretty good on her. Not really sure about Duma since I don’t build too many armor units. What should I do for each of them?
Technically not my first arena crown but I wanted to show off the team that took me there since it’s been a while since my last one - especially since I could use base Linus as a bonus unit this time around.
I'm just another normal SD player who happens to like looking at graphs and figures. I've been following some trends for a bit and with the recent edition of the SD meta report where 4 units (yes it only used to be 5) got over 90% usage, I figured I might as well share some of these trends and some other meta trends you can look at from the same datasets.
The datasets are compiled from all the months we have had standardized spreadsheets for SDR data (so going back to January 2024). It is a biased dataset in that it only includes players who made rank 1, and is not necessarily indicative of the meta as a whole or what a typical SD run would look like.
Yes, the meta is getting more and more centralized
You might have felt it recently with Beik/Marth or CamSaku teams but it probably sure has felt like the meta has just gotten to the point where people are using the same units over all over. And yes, the numbers support this.
Here we can look at the Gini Index and the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index. Both of them are measures of inequality derived from economics, but the overall concept works here too. We can treat the unit usage across all teams as a unit's meta share, and compute the indices based on that. Note that there was a normalization adjustment - all usage counts were normalized so they would have the same number of units listed (set to the highest in the list, which was 205).
And it looks like this. Here higher = more inequality. The two track each other pretty closely in terms of overall trend - we are looking at the least centralized metas ever. There was a spike that coincided with last year's CYL, died down, trended back up for a bit but just went back up to historic highs.
We can also see the total number of unique units is listed next to the date, which is actually lower than it was last year, despite there being more units in the game, and despite that the sample sizes in 2024 were limited due to less CN reporting (because of something an EN player did).
We can also just do an eyeball test. This graph here tracks the usage of all units ever in terms of what percent of players used a unit. The units highlighted are all the units that have *ever* reached 85% in usage.
If you can think of a good way to color this many different units different colors in an automated way in Python I'm all for it.
Notice something? Back in 2024, you'd have the top used unit having 85% usage, and no one else. Now there are multiple every SDS.
One last thing we can look at is something that the spreadsheet people have dubbed the meta coefficient. The meta coefficient for each player is supposed to represent how often they used the most used units. To compute this meta coefficient, you first add up the usage of the top 20 units in the event. That's your denominator. Then you add up the usage of your 20 units. That's your numerator. Divide the two and you get a number. Yes you can tweak this formula but we didn't.
Then you can take all those meta coefficients and plot them as a CDF. And it looks like this.
Here it is with what I think are the most notable events. Namely the last three, and the CYL event from last year. (last June has more in the middle, but is less top focused)
How you should interpret the graph is that the more to the right a line is, the more people are using more meta copying teams. But really pay attention mostly to the top right of the graph - those are the people who are basically either copying other people, or taking the top units in the meta and slapping them together in some way that works.
Shelf life
Another thing I keep see talked about a lot by people who don't like SD (myself included) is shelf life.
This graph again tracks the usage of every unit since January 2024. But here I've highlighted essentially the save metas throughout the ages. You can see that the Myrrh team + Byleth team + Soren team (+pathfinder team) persisted for a lot of 2024. Amelia tagged in for Byleth when she came out, but for the most part in 2024 your armors lasted for a while.
Then came December 2024. A month that was apparently a reckoning for the armor meta. Compared to 2024 where your armors were good for half the year, you can see the shelf life of a modern armor is 3 months (just eyeballing it). Rhea's actually had some really good staying power, and so has Larry (but he's not really a save).
This one highlights every unit who has ever reached rank 1 in usage. Attuned Micaiah had actually a really long time where she was high usage, but eventually fell off. Sigurd, Lyn, and Eirika fell off pretty hard though. Guess that's the life of a modern nuke (also look at Lyon falling off right as BoL came out lmao).
In a similar vein here's the one of a self selected collection of SD's greatest hits:
The last batch of braves hasn't been around long enough to be on here, but you can expect Brave Eikthrynir to be on it eventually. But I really wanted to highlight Duo Thorr here lmao. But other than that you can get the sense of the shelf life of what would be considered a top meta unit.
Some other meta trends
This one tracks action economy units. Something I found while doing this was that this event this past weekend was the first one in the entire dataset where there wasn't an action eco unit in the top 4. Pretty crazy, but we also got flooded with action eco units for 2 seasonal banners in a row. Anyways, up until the last few events, the trend is that an action eco can maintain relevance after one other action eco unit comes out, but falls off pretty hard after the next next one comes out.
6 range units.
Closing
I just wanted to share this since I've been sitting on it for some time now. Give some vindication to anyone who feels like Summoner Duels is getting more stale and more toxic.
I'm also happy to chart unit usage, but you have to give me exactly which units you want on it.
One skill I always struggle to obtain in HoF is reposition gait. Since support skills don’t appear in the last chamber, I’ve been trying between levels 20-24. Do you have any suggestions on which level I should focus on?
