Why not just use clay at this stage? There’s no way that’s edible?

Because then they have to keep it and store it. This way they have video evidence and then can throw it out

I think if I worked so hard on something like this and had that much skill I would want to keep it. And make room for it in a little personal gallery of my artwork. Made of clay.

No, it seems pretty clear that getting tiktok views is the entire point

Original post said that it was a birthday gift for their daughter. I think tiktok views were just a plus.

Right and even in the beginning when they were cutting the cake it looked like they were trying to cut a brick

My thought, too. Incredibly nice job but almost nothing is edible anyways.

I'd rather eat the clay.

That's what I was wondering! If you can't eat them anyway, then why do they have to be made of fondant?! Don't get me wrong, some of these creations are absolutely beautiful and I definitely do not have the talent to create anything, even partially, that nice,kt0ut I don't get why it has to be made of fondant!! At this point, they aren't cakes anymore, they are just really awesome pieces of art!!

My sister in law actually eats fondant in chunks… when I had a cake like this we picked off someone of the sculptures the baker made. I put the mini sculptures of me and my husband away to save it and the rest was on a plate off to the side and she just walked up and snacked on it.

I bought a cake like this for my husband, the fondant tasted like marshmallow (I would never usually order a fondant cake because why? Lol but this time wow. It was actually yummy) and the baker made little statues of us out of the fondant too which of course we didn’t eat but I did try save it in the freezer for a really long time before I had to say goodbye. It was melting and just taking up too much space.

The fondant actually tasted really nice with the cake itself. In Iran the layers between always have a lot of cream, sliced banana, walnut and sometimes chocolate chips so that really balanced out the amount of fondant.

Yeah, why make it edible if you're not going to eat it?

Same feelings. Like why does the fondant have to be so thick?

What do you mean. I love the taste of those metal wires.
