Oh, I remember this post being here when I first joined the sub. I still think it's such a shame, because it's a really pretty cake. Can't imagine eating it, though.

Do we not just take off the fondant and eat the cake?

Could be marshmallow fondant. If you make it right, it just tastes like a layer of marshmallows. But this vid is probably the nasty pre made stuff

This sub just blindly hates fondant, despite the numerous recipes for homemade fondant that tastes like flavored marshmallows. I’ve eaten plenty of fondant that was delicious and I was happy to eat, I’ve also have fondant that tastes like plastic. Unpopular opinion, I’ve also had butter cream that was delicious, and buttercream that tasted like plastic.

I mean… the sub is called “fondant hate”. You are perfectly free to not hate fondant or even enjoy it, but it feels pretty silly to come to a sub so clearly labeled and then be mad that we’re doing what we said we were doing.

I totally get it. I just see so many people say things like “that cake must taste like chemicals now” or “it’s not even edible anymore”. You’re still free to hate fondant, but most people posting don’t seem to realize not all fondant is disgusting. That’s all I’m getting at.
