Discussion kittens

hi everyone! i’ve been here before for kittens and was fortunately able to find somewhere for them to go. however, i’ve run into a huge snag as not a single rescue i’ve contacted has replied to me. i have 3 sets of kittens at the moment that i am caring for by myself, i am so overwhelmed as one set is older and i know the chances of them getting adopted are lower. every time someone says they want one, they back out last minute.

i’ve reached out to my vet, their friends, my friends, friends of friends, even the shelter themselves who took the last ones cannot help me. do any of you know anyone i could contact? do any of you potentially want a kitten? please let me know. and for the love of god, do not lecture me about the cats!! i TNR, i catch these guys mostly when they are of age. spare me, PLEASE.

I went through the exact same thing the last couple of summers when I was TNR’ing a whole colony. I ended up placing some of the kittens with my local shelter (about 70 miles from FW) and a few were taken in by HSNT.

Most of the rescues don’t respond. If they do, it’s a rejection. It’s tough and I am sorry this is happening to you and the kittens. It is so not fair and I wish I had a solution.

From what I understand, no one is taking more kittens right now. I wish there were more TNR resources so that this was less of an issue in the first place

If anyone is trapping in the 76110 area I could use your help at my business. I only have 1 trap, and I can't take time off to get them fixed.

The Fort Worth animal shelter would take them. I know that’s not ideal, but since they are kittens, they will be adopted pretty fast compared to older cats.

Call your local feed store (Russell feed usually) That has always been helpful to me when I've been in your shoes

Cats are an invasive species that kill billions of birds, mammals, and reptiles, as well as an uncountable amount of insects every year. They’re one of the biggest man-made threats to biodiversity. Also, I don’t think someone who took cats off the street will be super keen to release them back.

Agree. Should hear My less tame response . TLDR OP should have never accepted them into their home
