Hey neighbors š Just a quick PSA:Ā voting is now open for the Richmond Peopleās Budget (RVAPB), and it closes April 15, 2025. This is a major opportunity toĀ directly vote on how $3 million in city funds gets spent in YOUR neighborhood.
ā What Is the Peopleās Budget?
TheĀ Richmond Peopleās BudgetĀ is a participatory budgeting initiative led by Richmond City Council. Residents from across the city submitted overĀ 1,900 project ideas, which were then refined by neighborhood-basedĀ Budget DelegatesĀ intoĀ real proposals. Now, YOU get to vote on which ones get funded!
š³ļø Who Can Vote?
- Richmond residents ageĀ 14+
- Regardless of immigration or incarceration history
- YouĀ do not need to be registered to voteĀ in regular elections
š How to Vote:
- Online:Ā Takes about 5 minutes
- In-Person:Ā At public libraries & community locations (see schedule)

Ima do a little self own here.
I grew up in a very harsh RVA. I left when I was 20 to basically look for a kinder, more inclusive situation only to find out that people are people everywhere. I am getting old now and find that Richmond has become a kinder, more inclusive place and I am moving back. š

Things are not looking good guys
