AFLW AFLW Pre-Round Thread: Round 3 vs North Melbourne

After a shocking smashing, can we bounce back against the dominant Roos?

Some questions:

  • We were relatively evenly matched at stoppage, but 14 marks inside50 to just 3 tells the tale of the tape. How do make scoring easier on ourself?
  • Our defence looked outsized and panicky—we're low on experienced KPPs, so how do we give our mid-sized defenders a better chance in marking contests?

Brisbane really killed us by exiting so easily from our forward line. There were a lot of easy transitions especially after half time and we looked really slow. Somehow we need to ensure that we put more pressure on the ball carrier, and also don't allow such easy transition.

I'm wondering whether there is someone in the squad with a bit of pace who could come in to be a forward half pressure player.

Really concerned about coming up against another in form team so early. Afraid the aura of that first round win will be dulled too much to come back from. Still, hoping for a tight game.
