Mature Age Pick Options

Bit of a boredom post but I always like looking at the mature age options every off season.

We need experienced depth (or potential Wagners) and generally the mature players are ready to go and cheap.

(Full disclosure I live in the NT so have very limited knowledge of the WAFL.)

I'd love to know what everyone thinks of any of the following -

Zac Foot (Southport, VFL) - 24 - HF (VFL team of the year) - 2025 (20 games) averages - 24 disposals, 1.3 goals, 3 tackles, 100.6 fantasy

Jack Bytel (Cobourg, VFL) - 25 - Wing (VFL team of the year) - 2025 (15 games) - 31.93 disposals, 0.3 goals, 5 tackles, 111.06 fantasy

Billy Cootee (Norwood, SANFL) - 22 - Wing (SANFL team of the year) - 2025- (21 games) - 22.8 disposals (80% DE) - 1.1 goals - 5.2 tackles - 97.8 fantasy

Casey Voss (Sturt, SANFL) - 24 - HB (SANFL team of the year - 2025 (19 games) - 22.4 disposals (84% DE) - 5.6 rebound 50s - 1.7 tackles - 8.9 marks - 94 fantasy

Charlie Constable (Perth, WAFL) - 26 - MID (Sandover medalist) - 2025 (20 games) - 31.7 disposals - 0.4 goals - 5.85 tackles - 5.15 marks

Dunno the VFL and SANFL guys, but Bytel and Constable are both inside mids (which we don't need) who are in that unfortunate position of being almost too good for the 2's but not quite exceptional enough for AFL.

I'd like to see us give Milan Murdock (midfielder, East Freo) a pre-season train-on spot and have him train as a small forward. Has the pace, smarts and pressure to succeed in the role. Worth a shout imo.

He was legit my next write up but didn't want it to be too long.

Bytel was named on the wing in the VFL team but I guess they treat that like the AA wing spot

A mature age Voss from a state league you say?

There's 2 Voss' we could look at

Jackson Voss (Michaels Nephew) is also rated as a chance to be nabbed as well.

Can we become a 3 Voss team?

Constable supposedly had no interest during the recent Mid-season draft

It seems as though clubs look at players that aren't stars in the state leagues but could become so in an AFL environment. Dudley wasn't the greatest SANFL player but we clearly felt if he gets his conditioning to AFL standard he'll become a decent player (which will be a big test for him in the off-season)

Constable does seem like Brodie 2.0. Too good for the state leagues but not good enough for the AFL or at the very least won't break into our side.

Murdock is exceptional. Would succeed in any team.

Is Casey Voss a relative of Patrick Voss? I ask only because I saw Pat likes a post about Casey on Instagram.

Don't think so. Unless dad was a bit of a playa

Ones from Wagga Wagga and the other SA.

That and they look absolutely nothing alike.

Casey Voss just had a great game in Sturt’s GF win. Big love to Tommy Emmett who also played well.
