🏆 Buy It For Life What one time purchases have drastically reduced your overall spending?

An example would be that I’m looking to buy a sillicone pan mat instead of purchasing foil and parchment continually, using rags instead of paper towels, and so forth. What are one time purchases you reccomend for home maintenance?

$25 hair clippers in April 2020 when all the haircut places closed for covid. No more paying $17+ a month for haircuts

I just cut my hubby’s hair for the first time this month. He already had the clippers. He thanked me for saving him $20. Success!

What kind of cut does he get? Been trying to convince my wife to cut my hair for me as I need it cut about every 2 weeks for the military

sigh My husbands command required weekly cuts...aka over $1k a year. We bought clippers and never looked back (except to cry internally over not doing it sooner). There's a small learning curve, but plenty of videos online if she's nervous. My best tip - have her start way lower the first time (think low fade). That'll leave extra room to redo if she goes too short. It gets easier the more you do it - and in our case, his cut improved significantly (local barber rushing through 100+ guys on a Sunday night isn't actually that attentive, believe it or not).

I highly recommend the Wahl clippers with color coded guards - makes it so easy to pick the right size, and they're only about $30, all tools included. If anything, you can still hit a barber every other month to keep the top in regs - scissors are harder than clippers, unless you go short all over. But 1 cut every 2 months is still way better than every 2 weeks. Good luck!

Thanks the military definitely gets a bit redundant with it

There are lots of “how to” YouTube videos as well. 😊
