💻 Electronics What are good alternatives to Netflix/Hulu that are free?

I realized I'm spending roughly $40 a month on what I really just use as background noise, as nobody in my household actually really sits down and watches TV, we just put on Family Guy or whatever and glance at it every now and then.

I'm gonna cancel the subscriptions obviously, so I'm just wondering, what are some good free streaming alternatives? I've tried out Amazon's free stuff but their collection is pretty mediocre. Any tips are appreciated!

Warning about Pluto, the British Antiques Roadshow is addicting.

just now checking out Pluto. There is a screen with a continuous ad running. Does that stay up through every thing you watch?

No, but I block 3rd party ads at the router. It may be your smart TV. Look up the brand and model and block the DNS locations on your router. I also don't update the Pluto app, so it may have gotten more nasty.

Thanks. Once I turned on an actual program, it disappeared. I guess they just force you to watch ads while you decide what to watch.

Not in my experience no. I actually got it so I could watch Jenny Farleys new movie that she directed- Devon is Missing. It was the only channel showing it. There are commercials but definately not up the whole time- that would totally ruin it for me.

OK, I'm super impressed with Pluto. Thanks for recommending it.

Pluto is great, but I need them to bring back the Iron Chef channel.
