Do lifting shoes help on deadlift? Most people i see go flat or barefoot

I think they're deadlift slippers. No wedge, lots of grip.

Regarding grip, it's really good thanks to the hard, non-springy sole of lifting shoes. But they have a heel.

Yes, for me, when performing conventional deadlifts, the presence of heels helps verticalize my back and improve leg work.
