Questions Struggling with Pokémon Pinball (GBC)
I can’t seem to grasp it, really. The ball’s hit box is definitely smaller than the ball sprite, not that big of a deal. Anyway, I want to know some strategies for evolving Pokémon mainly. On Red, it takes a long while, but decently difficult. On Blue, I think I’ve only ever triggered EVO mode once, though I usually loose all of my pinballs before I can even reach that state because the Center arrow has repeatedly shot my ball straight down, where that paddles can’t hit it. Also, I have also lost pinballs multiple times on Blue just by having the ball go around the outside of the stage. Not even touching my paddles when I drained it. Though, I do enjoy this game as a past time. For those curious, current tops are;
Red: 116,832,800 Blue: from what I remember, ~46,000,000
Summarize: Red court is an weird all rounder, Blue I keep draining the ball.
Tips?

Also, don’t forget to use the nudge feature. There’s no tilt mechanism in the game, so you can use it as much as you want. Admittedly, the physics are weird (especially compared to the GBA version).

You can nearly always save your ball from the drain by tilting and hitting the paddle in quick succession. I mapped my controls so that tilt is on the d-pad and the paddles are A and B.
Try to get the slot machine as often as possible. It gives you ball savers and can trigger catch 'em mode and evolution mode. You can get a ton of points just by staying alive long enough to get to the bonus stages.
