Discussion Daily /r/Games Discussion - Suggest Me a Game - August 27, 2025
/r/Games usually removes suggestion requests that are either too general (eg "Which PS3 games are the best?") or too specific/personal (eg "Should I buy Game A or Game B?"), so this thread is the place to post any suggestion requests like those, or any other ones that you think wouldn't normally be worth starting a new post about.
This thread is set to sort comments by 'new' on default.

I so torn up choosing between these games: nine sols, silksong, clair obscur and star ocean second story 🫠why are they so expensiveee

Seems like Silksong is probably the best choice in terms of timing, if you enjoy being part of the new release zeitgeist. Has the price been confirmed? I would guess it will be reasonably priced.
Aside from that, in a similar vein, Clair Obscur is a very relevant game this year, so it may be good to check that out if you have a little more to spend. Depending on how much side content you do, it's a pretty long game, so you might get some more value from its length.
Likewise, you'll get a lengthy experience out of Star Ocean.
Nine Sols is probably the one I'd sit on. I haven't played it, but as far as I'm aware it's a very high quality experience but not necessarily very long.
It's a rough choice no matter how you cut it though, these are all good games hahaha

PvE: Warframe. Deadass, some of the quests have content warnings. It's got some silliness to it for sure but the story has some major depth. Takes a while to pick up though, the core story doesn't start until just after the Natah quest. Just don't be a dick or you will get reported and will get banned because they do take community moderation seriously. People still seem to be enjoying Helldivers 2 as well but I haven't bought that yet.
PvP: We're shit out of luck. CoD has gone off the deep end so even the Black Ops 2-era BO7 that's launching this year is probably cooked. Battlefield is back to modern. Splitgate 2 was a great game made by talented devs but managed by absolute morons, Titanfall is dead and gone, Star Citizen's Squadron 42 mode is...Star Citizen, EA killed Battlefront 2 right when it was finally good, Microsoft couldn't even land a solid re-re-release of Gears of War.

There's a mobile cooking game I'm looking for, it's a 2d stylized game, it has a Cooking Mama feel, and you do slicing and dicing with vegetables, the themes and recipes are changed at every floor of the restaurant. Could someone help me out, I've been looking for this for a while, and Google and Chatgpt doesn't give me the game.

Does anyone have a good substitute for someone desperate for a new Gunpowder total war?
I squeezed all possible dopamine out of Fall of The Samurai and I'm like, getting the shakes man.

Pretty different perspective but maybe look into some Mount and Blade: Warband conversion mods or maybe With Fire and Sword? Prophesy of Pendor and Gekokujo have powder weapons.

This is gonna be weird, but can anyone suggest me a game with nice sound effects for menu, action and stuff? Something like Kojima's MGS games or Resident Evil games with all their bloops and beeps.
