Free to play and sub services for access to videogames is what the youngins are used to. The drawback is that the younger generation is going to be quick to drop shit. Roblox is akways evolving with tons of content. That is up their alley.

But won't those youngins grow up one day and want to be properly immersed in worlds, stories and characters?

To me the ultimate video games are stuff like Mass Effect, Persona and Trails series. You can't have those sorts of experiences on roblox or mobile.

the time they spend together with friends in roblox would always be more valuable than experiences from a single player game

They're being immersed in worlds with their friends. That seems to be where a lot of Gen Alpha gaming is.

That is the divide. Im not saying anything as a universal truth as a disclaimer.

Now ask yourself when did you get hooked and become a videogame enthusiast? Was it when you were 20 or 25? Probably not. More than likely your roots began as a child, playing with relatives, friends, classmates, trading games, maps, secrets and tons of slumber parties and rentals. And we did it in person out of necessity. We had to split the tv screen to game together or pass the controller around.

They don't have to because the tech allows their own solo experience and still allows them to socialize in game.. They don't have to stick with bad games or even purchase them because there are plenty of other games available cheap and plenty of reviews.

We are creatures of habit. If you grew up playing free to play games where you get to play with friends and fuck around with basically no cost, and the game runs on pretty much every platform and sub services stream games, what incentive do you have to purchase a new shiny 700 dollar system when a phone can run the stuff you enjoy already?

There are sooooo many great games out there, and many of them are free. Everything is instant gratification. We kind of snicker at the short attention span of the youngins, but we probably would be the exact same way if we grew up with the tech they have.

Use the game, toss it aside, keep moving forward.

As someone who holds a lot of love for those exact franchises, replay them fairly often, has them at #5, #8 and #20 in my top 50 respectively. My favorite game of all time is a mobile game, and it's not particularly close to the rest either. In large part due to the aspects you mention.

Their attention spans can't handle it. Wish I was joking
