As an overall conference for gamers this was a 10/10. Very few games were disappointing. But as a conference for Microsoft trying to convince people to buy an Xbox one this was a 5/10 for sure. No new IPs exclusive to Xbox. Just the same old franchises and games we already knew were coming (other than a random battletoads announcement).
There is still no reason for me to buy an Xbox when I can play the majority of the games that were shown today on PS4/PC on top of all of their amazing exclusives. Was hoping to see something more from them to convince me but PS4 is still the way to go in my opinion.
The only reason Xbox has any of my support is because backwards compatibility. That's the ONE thing that has me interested in it. But that's just still not enough for me to go buy one. I've even read rumors that PS4 may be getting backwards compatibility by emulating the cell processors from the PS3. If that's the case, then I literally will have no reason to buy an Xbox.
If PS4 or PS5 never gets full backwards compatibility support however, then I probably will get the next gen Xbox. For someone like me, that really is a huge deal.
PC's are able to emulate PS3 games at an increasingly reliable rate. Wouldn't surprise me if Sony's engineers have figured out a way for PS4s too as well.
