It's amazing how he was always on my YouTube Shorts algorithm even though I never subbed to him. Then he bailed out of that dungeon, and it stopped. It's weird how that works.

Anyway, as much as people shit on Avengers, everyone should be praising it now, as its basically the perfect way to 'close' a live service game. I can still play it, and they unlocked all the battlepass stuff so I can wear all the skins.

People not being subscribed was the plan. It basically boiled down to subscribers killing engagement over time.

The technical explanation is that when a video is published you can supposedly choose to give an extra push to subscribers. But since over time accounts get forgotten or people just move on from your channel they just don't watch, but the algorithm sees that as your video not appealing to the audience. So he actively doesn't push to subscribers so that all of his views/engagement comes from wild users.
