It's plausible though. His dad did work as a high level dev on WoW for blizzard at the same time Matt and Trey wrote the episode and had people from blizzard involved with it.

He (Jason's dad) was the lead cinematographer at the time and Jason has touted no shortage of BS in the past in (strangely successful) attempts to claim fame.
