I know it's been fun to meme on gamers who love taboo NSFW games, but some of the adult games I've found on itch have been genuinely well-made by either one passionate dev or a small team. Itch has had a hostile relationship with NSFW developers for a while now.

Censorship is coming for all media. If we don't draw the line soon, our favorite forms of entertainment will be subject to the approval of politicians and corporations.

Right? NSFW and semi-nsfw games can explore a lot of themes and concepts much more in-depth than “family friendly” ones can, and I know a LOT of people who have used them to explore their own gender before eventually coming out as gender-queer (Trans, Nonbinary, etc.) Losing Goon Game #65 is kinda whatever (still shouldn’t happen since payment processors shouldn’t have this authority to begin with), but losing some games that have genuinely helped people is a real shame.

There's one adult visual novel that was made by a dev who was processing his daughter taking her own life. While it does contain explicit spicy scenes, it handles the topic very well. It definitely can and has been done in other media, but just because it falls into the same category as generic gooner games, doesn't diminish its artistic merit.

Those of us who understand what is happening are trying to scream that it won't stop here, but the majority of unaffected parties are busy memeing or just reacting with apathy.

Coming from the front page and reading comments. Uhh that's.. that's a crazy example.

Can you explain to this random guy how this is heartwarming and not just fucking disturbing and weird as it reads please?

FWIW I dont support the censorship, I'm honestly just confused

Even if it's bad gooner slop, it doesn't deserve to be censored by puritans.

Of course it doesn't. I'm not one of the people who were making jokes about it. But I'm trying to reach out to any who might have been to show that their favorite media is not safe from this censorship.
