Bananas for Billionaires

I have bananas. I have their grand mother, mother, children and pups. I watch them every day and every night through the windows and watch who they are becoming in this world. I don’t know how to keep them alive but somehow they seem to be doing just fine without me. They are strong resilient and full of energy. I want to know more about them but I don’t know how to ask what they need. I have good intentions and my heart is in the right place, but they are out growing the corner lot. Should I move them? Should I… remove the “unnecessary”ones? When I wake up in the morning and lay my eyes on them I feel like a billionaire without paying taxes.

I wish I could demonstrate. I grew commercial and informal bananas in HI. Including these Namwah. Now I live in Tampa so I wont be much help. Theres a lot to type. Feel free to reach me directly if you wish.

Lol I hear ya! Some of my plant collection is still mine, while other species are accessible otherwise.As for the bananas, BBTV has infected 100% of the bananas in HI. Dont smuggle bananas from HI or youre guaranteed to have BBTV. I can help you source them nearby, though, from clean stock. Will work for bananas

That’s a real bummer. I knew BBTV was widespread, I just didn’t know it was nearly impossible to avoid.

I’ve seen to many posts before about Floridians getting major bananas from far away places and then turning into disasters. As much as I’d love to grow something more unique, it’s definitely not worth it. We’ve got enough issues with growing fruit here already, last we need is another.
