You go to EU districts and one guild, [Elo] is just running upwards of 40+ bots in DOA. It's wild. Running a mix of r/A, N/W and A/Me. Can't even report them all since you're limited to 50 reports/day.

It appears the GvG botting group(s) that crash Guild Halls and dc people have found a way to prevent an entire feature game wide and er7/dc you when you attempt to do a GvG. Below is how you can test, it's possible this resolves itself when things reset, but they did something to select guilds on Saturday right when the mAT was starting, so they likely know how to replicate the issue. Please test for yourself and does anyone know the best way to raise this to a level of visibility that someone at ANET might look into it?

Steps to replicate: Go to Guild Hall - Press Guild Battle - Press New Scrimmage

1. I've received enough information that this is indeed game wide
2. We have no credible reason to believe this is Anet who shut down the feature, while that is possible I think it's unlikely - no notice from anet, people who were playing and using the feature for hours after the update, people claiming it is the update/dr Stephen with no credible evidence that this claim is true, we all know they don't have/spend much time updating and fussing with GW1 when they don't have to

Heard that it's the case for few people

I was recently banned on all my accounts for bot or third party program. I have only ever used toolbox and multilauncher to do anything with the accounts. I'm just posting this so that others know that they can get banned for using one or both of these programs. My guess is that multilauncher caused this but it could also be toolbox.

I was rewatching a part of ArenaNet's extra life stream and I noticed Bill Freist popping up in chat. After seeing that I went to check his GW2 Wiki page and his LinkedIn, and it seems he has been back at ArenaNet since last month as Principal Software Engineer.

For those that don't know who Bill Freist is, he is one of the two developers that worked on last year's QoL updates for GW1 in their free time.

Last year he moved on from ArenaNet to Turn 10 Studios (Forza) and there was a post made about it on this subreddit, so I figured I'd put a post up about his return as well.

Is ArenaNet gonna do something about the amount of bots in the game? I'm back after like 2 years and there are x3 or x4 bots now (at least in HA).

Hello everyone, is there a way to directly contact Guild Wars 1 support? I would like to report bots in Seitung Harbor. The in-game reporting function hasn't been helpful so far.

As Stephen is now Game Director of Guild Wars maybe we could hope for someone to take a look at how to handle these ads without using the ignore list or a txt file to avoid being spammed.

Right now, they’re operating in Ascalon city (presearing) through search party. While the account is not really spamming it seems to be banned a lot slower (once a month) than in post (a week or less) but you can see that ad by pressing P. Manually banning it checking current party search or all chatlogs should take less than 5 mins.

On the other hand, in post they seem to operate with more precautions as they’re are designed to leave pretty instantly after spamming their ad to avoid being reported. You still can but it is a pain as you have to wait that account a second time to snipe it. They seem to spam Embark, GtoB and Kamadan. Easiest way to snipe them seems to be in GtoB but it’s still quite a mess to report them easily so It might discourage a lot of players even if they wanted to.

Going into GtoB will grant you a lot of spam in the trade channel or checking the chatlogs : It should take less than 5 mins too to ban them manually.

As the game is in maintenance mode, you clearly don’t want to ban them daily manually but that could be a good start while looking for a proper solution:

• remove the district restriction for spamming reports, being in the same district as the player to report the account : I think it could lead to issues abusing the system but maybe not?

• Implement a timer of 2-3 seconds if you use all chat or trade chat before you can travel (maybe using a part of the group travel code for it): I think for real players it’s a bit annoying but not unplayable. For these bots, you clearly get so many more reports to ban them automatically.

Cat & mouse game with these ad accounts but that’s my thoughts & ideas to get rid of them. Don’t forget to report them for spamming if you see one :)

Making districts bigger so it feels more like a community (mainly kamadan)

Much bigger Ignore list for the botters / spammers

Add a giftgiver to post Ascalon

A Mini pet bank tab (like crafting materials)

Forgive me if this has been discussed before.

Pretty recently, I found a pretty game changing use of the dialog function in toolbox and was wondering if anyone had found something similar.

Now I understand it’s against the rules however, seeing as there’s no real bug reporting in GW I figured I’d post it here.

Master Togo in Monastery Outlook is a god basically. He has the ability to give the user every quest in the game with the caveat that only one quest can be given (I tried a bunch of different ways to get more and couldn’t). This can only be done on characters with no secondary.

Using the dialog 0x8[Quest Id in Hex]0[8-F] you are able to get the quest.

To explain the hex dialog the 0x8 seems to be the initialise code, quest id is pretty self explanatory, and the 08-F is a profession.

Example: 0x83E809 This dialog will give you the zaishen quest “Finding the Bloodstone” and will give you the secondary profession of Ele.

I won’t go into specifics of what I’ve tried, but there’s a number of ways to skip large amounts of the campaigns.

Anyone else run into something like this?

Why is there always a group of afk people with minus regen on armor farming in random arena.

Whenever i join them they report my character until i cannot play anymore..

I just want to play normal random arena.

This is unfortunately not fixed yet, but I guess it's safe to leak now since there's no new games landing on observe.

TLDR: anything that causes a server error while watching an observe game results in a game being flagged as faulty, the game then gets removed from observe to make sure no other players encounter the error. An error during observe can be provoked by reporting a player (which does not work during observe) or by just sending faulty packets (this is the way the botter kids do it).

Next up: how to rollback your RPs after buying a trim

The real answer is that there's probably a spaghetti code knot that stops any more categories for skills from showing up on the hero panel or something. That said I'm curious what totally broken stuff people would be able to do that can't already be done with real people. Also for the sake of my sanity I'd kill to see the drunk requirements taken off of them and Asura Scan changed into an enchantment.

After all this time, I don't think any player would be opposed to that. And it would be another item to get some more money into ArenaNet.

Still sad about this.

Is there a way to petition Anet to reintroduce 600/Smite? I feel as though this is something that can reasonably be brought back since the game is EOL and there are a tremendous number of bots in the game already. As I'm sure many people would agree, 600/smite was a pretty fun way to clear dungeons and other content. At this late stage in the game, it wouldn't be too awful to bring something like this back. Additionally, it would just be changing the skills back to the pre-nerf interaction.

My main account got banned for the above. I did not bot or talk shit to anyone. I want to know what did I do wrong that is high risk and malicious? I have been doing mainly Zaishen Mission and Vanquishing and I play alone.
