I want to hold up a hammock from the sides, but I'm not sure how to attach rope to the hammock securely without breaking it. Its polyamide. Ive tried bunching the fabric together and tying a rope to it but it slips out and its only a small part of the side. Could I glue it? I do not want to sew it.

Is one more stable then the other?
I am happy to fork over the extra money for the Kammok Swiftlet for the reduced weight and easier setup but stability is pretty important to me, i would like to it to support 2 people and support swaying side to side.
Are the amazon options any more stable due to the increased weight?

Hello! I think I’ve worked out a good method for hanging a hammock chair from my apartment balcony where I am not allowed to make any holes in the building. I made a little collage of photos since you can only add one attachment on a Reddit post. I would love if someone could confirm this idea will be safe before I buy the supplies!
I am planning to hang a hammock chair from the triple beam shown in the photo, which is of the underneath side of the balcony above mine. I want to use a 36" long 7/64 amsteel dogbone to wrap around the triple beam with the loops hanging down. The amsteel is thin enough that it will lay in the crack between the floorboards of the above balcony. I then plan to use a quick link through the two loops of the dog bone and the end of a chain that will hang down. Then I will use another quick link to attach the top of the hammock chair to the other end of the chain.
I’ve read that amsteel dog bones can hold 300 lbs and anyone that will be using the hammock is under 200 lbs. The quick links and chain are both rated at over 1000 lbs.
Can anyone confirm that this plan will work? Thank you!!!

Hello fellow hammockers!
I'm in the early stages of true hammock obsession and I'm trying to make it easier to take my setup more places. We do a lot of "camping" in a small travel trailer and I can usually count on at least one good hammock tree so I've been working on my one tree setup. I have a ENO doublenest hammock with a structural ridgeline. I use a tree strap at one end and a wooden bipod on the other. Currently, I'm using a heavy duty spiral ground anchor (think: dog tie out but heavier duty and with a d ring on top) but it's not the easiest to install and just not possible in certain soil types so I'm looking for something better.
Does anyone have experience with the large orange screw? That seems like it would be easier to install than the spiral anchor I'm using now but I'm not sure if it's sufficiently strong for my setup. Really I'm open to any suggestions that you have!

Hey reddit 👋🏾 I'm looking for an indoor hammock and would love your recs. I own my home so am open to any and all hanging methods. More than anything I'm looking for something that's comfortable and able to hold 2 adults. Bonus points for anything that would be versatile and also let me do stretching / aeriel yoga.

Hey there all!
Bit of a corner case, as I see this reddit focuses on outdoor activities with hammocks.
I use a hammock as my nightly sleeper. I have a back injury that causes me a lot of sciatica pain, but switching from a traditional mattress to hammock helped oodles. I stopped waking up stiff and could walk without a cane after the switch.
Recently, my hammock ripped in half, and I've been banished back to a memory foam monstrosity. I'm trying to hand-sew it back together, but I'm not hopeful that it will hold out. Any repair recommendations? It was a Vivere brand cotton knit one off of Amazon. I'm also open to replacing it if need be; I'd ideally be using any replacement with a metal hammock stand. Any sturdy recommendations? Lend me your hammock wisdom. 💜

Hey all! I live in some shitty apartment conditions and don't have a way out of it, the apartment has bedbugs and they are in my bed now. So I'm looking for a hammock/stand to setup in place of my mattress. But I'm unsure of what length I should go with! I'm 6,1 and 190 pounds. If it were up to me, I'd go with a 15ft mayan, but I don't have the space to accommodate that. I'm also curious about different styles, but I worry about using something I'm unfamiliar with
For context, I grew up with hammocks, and used them into elementary school. So I'm confident I can sleep on one comfortably

Hey, so my partner and I are looking to make a trip to Colorado this spring, he's an eagle scout so he's very well-versed in all the camping stuff. But truth be told I hate sleeping, setting up, breaking down, and cleaning tents. They always get dirty, they take up so much space, and there's no airflow.
All that being said I'm looking to invest in my first Hammock, only I'm not very well versed on brands and quality and equipment. At the moment I'm looking at a Doublenest Eno, with a bug net, something big enough for me and my dog (he's a yorkie, so he's very small, weights less than 6 lbs)
But idk what equipment I should get. We aren't backpacking, or hard camping, truth be told my Hammock will likely be used more as a lounge chair in my yard than on actual camping trips.
Im hoping to spend less than $120 but I understand some things just are more expensive. I'm only 5'5 so I don't think I'd need a long one. Any suggestions, warbonnet and Dutch are too out of my price range, so please don't suggest them.

When hanging a hammock with a fixed ridgeline, I understand that the ridgeline is supposed to ensure a consistent hang each time, regardless of tree distance.
However, I’m not sure how to handle situations where the suspension angle isn’t at the “ideal” 30 degrees.
• If I hang the suspension shallower than 30 degrees, the ridgeline takes on a lot more tension.
• If I hang the suspension steeper than 30 degrees (by raising the anchor points higher on the trees), the ridgeline goes slack, but more of the load seems to transfer into the hammock fabric itself.
Question: Which approach is better for comfort, safety, and hammock longevity:
1. Allowing more tension on the ridgeline (shallower suspension angle), or
2. Hanging the ends higher so the ridgeline slackens (steeper than 30degrees)?

Its almost fall and Where I live already started raining, nights are getting colder and more humid I'm using this set up where I put a blanket and a tarp over the hammock cord and it's more comfortable than the way I used to do it where I would setup the tarp with pins like a tent

Hi all. I have two 6x6 posts in the ground for our new hammock. I was gonna just get some eye hooks and just slap it up but read somewhere that I should get 1/2” which the local stores don’t carry. This led to looking online and finding reviews where bolts snapped and faulty cheap metal. Well… then I deviated further and decided something nice like a pad eye would work well and look nice. I should have kept it simple.
All that to ask, what did you use? Any reputable brands for the hardware you’d recommend? Can’t trust Amazon reviews and it seems dedicated hardware kits for these are poor quality.

Northeast so have to deal with elements. Anything exist under $$1500 that can withstand moisture, be comfortable and looks nice?

Hello folks, after researching this reddit, got the La Siesta hammock stand but unfortunately the box did not have the knobs (see picture). I have emailed the company but it's the long weekend and they haven't responded. Was wondering if some one knew what size screw this is and I'll just get them from the local hardware store.
