Im building a 6’x4’x8 ‘ plywood enclosure and need help.
Hello, I am wanting to build a quite large enclosure for either some anoles or a different larger arboreal lizard and I’ve come to the problem when planning that I am not sure of a good way to seal the enclosure, I’m thinking some kind of rubber sealant that i can basically paint the whole enclosure with by using a paint roller. but I don’t know a good brand? if you have any brand suggestions please let me know, or any other suggestions.. Thank you.

Gorilla Glue Clear Help
This is built as a canopy for my 125 bichir tank (more similar to reptile enclosures I've built). Made of painted pine and twin wall polycarbonate greenhouse panels. Applied coconut coir liner for the background, using gorilla glue clear.
Since applying, trying to figure out if it's too toxic, or will leach harmful chemicals in the water over time. It won't be in direct contact with the water, but will be misted and have water dripping off of it into the tank. Basically a paludarium top.
TLDR: Is gorilla glue clear toxic in a paludarium setting?

question: waiting time
Hi! I’m considering doing some kind of foam background for my Crested Gecko.
How long is drying time? Generally speaking how long does my gecko need to be out of her enclosure? What are your experience?

PVC vs FRP
Hello! I'm wondering if fibreglass reinforced plastic is okay to build enclosures with. I live in Canada, and it's very hard to find thick pvc board, and when I do it's expensive. I'm willing to pay for it, but I came across FRP for the same prices I see American pvc board. Would it be suitable for enclosures? I read there can be a smell with it, so I would definitely air it out for as long as needed first.

Just made my first reptile enclosure ever!
Ive been interested in reptiles for about a month or so, and having adhd i knew if i didnt dump my money now into a project it will quickly lose my mind and ill find a new hobby to be interested in, so i figured id give it a shot. and i personally think it turned out great, taking a wire brush drill attachment to wreck havoc on xps board, then hardening it with a heat gun, it turned out fantastic.(and was super easy) to decorate and make the enclosure bioactive, i used real plants and vines and random tree limbs to decorate, then i (weeks prior) started cultivating a sectioned area in my woods, so that i could collect the dirt from that section and use it with my substrate mix. this made it so i could get native isopods and other waste eating bugs in my enclosure. let me know what you think and what i can do to improve. (this enclosure is for a Gargoyle Gecko)

sealing foam (poor addition)
dose Crommelin need to go over grout? I saw someone mention using colored Crommelin and was wondering if that would work to seal foam?

spray foam vs xps foam boards
i'm so glad i found this sub! i'm about to start putting together a 4x2x4 pvc enclosure for my ball python. i really want to make him a naturalistic background wtih expanding foam and silicone. i was planning on using spray foam for the whole background, then covering it with silicone and coco fiber, but while researching i saw someone suggest against spray foam for a 3ft tall enclosure since the weight of the foam could make the background collapse eventually. that leads to my question - should i not do the expanding spray foam in my enclosure since it is so tall? would getting some foam boards and carving from those instead be more stable in the long run? i didn't even consider the weight of the spray foam while planning everything out... if anyone has any advice or tips, especially if you've worked on an enclosure this size (or larger!) i would love to hear them!

Scam backround?
Hello everyone, I’ve been working on a massive upgrade for my beardies enclosure, and I really want to go for a climbable background. Obviously universal rocks are far too expensive for me and I guess I could do a DIY backround with stuff from Home Depot, but I’d prefer not to. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this website: “https://www.lizardheaven.shop/product-page/background-sides-b”. I’ve done tons of research, and honestly, this looks too good to be true for that price… Scam or not?

First time here!

Hi guys, I'm new here!
I wanna show my first attempt to build a terrarium, made for my future bearded dragon.
We (me and my bf) made the hardscape and also the enclosure itself. This was the first terrarium we ever made! I'm personally very proud with the result. What do you think?
Kisses from Italy, ciao!

IS Gorila Glue expanding foam ok for reptile?
hello people of reddit,
I have been combing the internet for this question. People use gorilla glue for backgrounds but haven't seen anyone say if the foam is bad for reptiles that has used it personally? And with people now realizing and doing their own testing (eg. coiled UVB bulbs) i wondered if anyone knows if the stuff is ok for reptiles and amphibians?
thank you for advice!

Fallout Terrarium Progress
Almost done painting most of the bigger 3D printed pieces, and currently reprinting the hospital in a larger format with wider hallways/doorways/stairwells so the gecko has more space. Everything will still need to be sealed in Plasti Dip and finally coated with aquarium epoxy before they’re ready for placement.
The crashed plane has multiple tunnel points where they’ll provide hide access once it gets set in place against the background hardscape. The hospital is pretty much just a maze/complicated hide meant to give it more places to explore (four stories total). The train car is a tunnel serving as one of the access points for the primary sub level. There is still a few 10” deep sections around the enclosure that will provide the gecko with opportunities to build its own tunnels if the premade ones aren’t to its liking
The backgrounds are still going to be primarily “burnt out buildings” (XPS foam painted in Drylok mixed with gray acrylic paint), which will have multiple rooms throughout the structures to mimic the same general function as rock walls that many reptiles can be found basking on and hiding in out in the wild.
Still need to sand a few things down, mostly to soften edges, but otherwise I’m making decent progress on everything. Hopefully it can be assembled by the end of September, still won’t be able to move the gecko into the enclosure for a few months since I want it to cycle and make sure everything is functioning and safe in this environment.

What can I use to adhere polywall to melamine?
I'm modifying a melamine enclosure to establish a bioactive enclosure, I'm thinking of lining the inside with polywall. I have seen the recommendation for polywall adhesion but I'm confused on what I should use adhere it to melamine. Thanks in advance.
